WE’VE GOT THE HOME… NOW WE NEED THE BITS & PIECES!
Our new Geraldton Women’s Shed home is currently a pretty blank canvas, and as we start getting it ready to welcome our members and the wider community, there are lots of everyday things we still need.
So before you throw something out, pop it on Marketplace or leave it sitting in the shed for another five years 😜… OR if you are a business who would like to donate items - have a look at our wishlist!
We’re currently looking for donations of:
🍽️ KITCHEN
Cutlery, glasses, plates, bowls, mugs, microwave, pod coffee machine, kettle, toaster, sandwich press, water cooler, urn and new tea towels.
🧰 STORAGE + WORKSHOP
Heavy-duty shelving, pegboards, pin-up/notice boards, lockers or pigeonholes.
🪑 FURNITURE
An entry/hall table around 1m wide, accent or occasional chairs for our lounge area, bench seating and commercial/heavy-duty door mats.
🧹 CLEANING + AMENITIES
Rubbish bins, cleaning equipment, heavy-duty mop and bucket, paper towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers and soap dispensers.
IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, electrical items donated will need to be NEW or NEAR NEW, in excellent working condition and suitable for use in our community space.
If you have something on our list that you’d be happy to donate, please send us a message with a photo and brief description so we can check whether it’s something we still need before you bring it down 🙏
♻️ A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT DONATIONS
As our Shed grows, our needs will change. We may also be fortunate enough to receive future grant funding that allows us to upgrade or replace some donated items.
If an item donated to us becomes surplus to our needs, we’ll make sure it continues to do some good - either by donating it on to someone else in our community or selling it through a future GWS garage sale, with all proceeds going directly back into the Geraldton Women’s Shed.
