This is our set up for tonight's Clairvaux Primary School Colour Run. We were committed to cooking 700 sausages and 20odd Veggie burgers.
A group of 7 of our members were able to complete the task and in the end could probably have done with 1000 sausages, as we were asked to be prepared for 2 runs of customers between 5 and 7pm, however due to demand our stock ran out at 6.30pm for an early night.
The school has 400 students and we reckon they all attended most had their parents in attendance also.
Orders from a single sausage up to 8, really kept us all busy, with feedback coming to our Members of how good the quality of the sausages were.
Since 2010 our Club has purchased our sausages through our local IGA Marshalltown Road Grovedale, who give our Club great support.
All funds taken, over $1600.00, on the evening were dispersed to the Club as a Disbursement within a couple of hours of completion.
The School Committee thanked the Club for our Service.

Our Club have donated some funds towards the purchase of this vehicle, proceeds from 2 Bunnings BBQS which the fund raising group's motivator, Jodie, worked at to assist our Club raise the funds, to enable the family to purchase the vehicle so that they are able to take their daughter who is confined to a wheelchair to her appointments but also to family outings. It means that the family are able to lock daughter and chair safely into the vehicle without having to lift chair and daughter, which because of maturing daughter was becoming a difficult task.
Thank you to Jodie, our Members who fund some terrific causes and to our community who support our efforts.

We are always looking for new members to join our Club.

This morning arriving at IGA Marshalltown Road Grovedale were a couple of Pallets plus some additional foodstuffs purchased through IGA with our continued donation of $1k X 2 months, for our local Uniting Food For Families support. Our Club now has 3 months left of our ongoing commitment to support this worthy cause, and it shows our General Public, one of our Club's programs, where the funds the Club raise at our BBQ'S are directed to.
Through IGA, who support us heavily, it gives the Club extra value of purchase and with discussions with the program organisers they select the goods they wish to be purchased, so it is a " win win situation" value for money directing items needed to targets.

Our Club is always looking for Community minded people to join our Club.

Today's Bunnings BBQ with funds now going to Bush Fire Victims appeal, originally it was Today's profit would go to the fund to help purchase a specially designed vehicle for the family of a little girl who is confined to a wheelchair, to assist in purchasing said vehicle and which we have pledge support to previously, however with the occurrence of Bush Fires, the decision was made that funds would go to the Lions Bush Fire Appeal, and whilst also honouring our original arrangement of additional support to the family of the little girl, by doubling our original pledge from Club funds, raised from the Christmas Cake Sales of this past festive season.
The photo Natalya the Granddaughter of and next to Pop Wilson, who worked well with the team together with Jodie, who is in charge of fund raising for the little girl's family fund raising and true to her word even though our cause changed she once again filled the shift, with Pop Wilson, Colin and Mick.

Our Club's BBQ Committee have agreed to donate all PROFITS from BUNNINGS BBQ towards VICTIMS of the current BUSH FIRES, on Thursday 29th January at BUNNINGS WAURN PONDS..

Previously proceeds were going to be donated in part to assist the family of a little girl, who requires a Special Designed Vehicle so that the little girl is able to be transported with her wheel chair to various required appointments as NDIS do not assist.

The Club has already committed an amount to this cause and will add extra funds to our Commitment which will be made known to the family in due course. Our Club appreciates that the Family Fund Raising Group have a representative who assisted our Club when we pledged our previous amount, and is assisting us on 29th January, due to situation with the Bush Fires our cause has changed, but our Club had committed to extend our Donation to the little girl's need.
The Club will still meet that commitment from profits made from recent Christmas Cakes/Pudding sales, and we thank everyone who assisted our Club with these sales.

If anyone is in the area of BUNNINGS WAURN PONDS on 29th January and would either like to try a Sausages or make a Small donation to the Bush Fire Victims our Members on the day will be happy to accept

Bunnings on a busy 23rd December.
2nd shift changeover, with Chef Lion John, officer in charge of serving Lion Dennis H, Cashier Lion Shirley and chief Rouseabout Leigh, who is a close friend of our Club, and Baker Lion Wilson.
Well the first 3 hours were hectic as we feed the Multitudes from our 2 Bain Marees that we had keeping the food hot. Lion Ross, Wilson,Mick and Leigh kept the Tyro machine turning over in what has been our busiest Bunnings morning in over 5 years.
Treasurer Mick is concerned that the 40 loaves and 840 snags, that he ordered may run out during the afternoon, however we have the capacity to replenish if needed to.
The last shift of President Dennis, Ged, Greg and Colin will handle any rush in true Lions fashion.
Oops ran out with 2 hours to go so received a delivery of another 100+ snags and 7 loaves of bread, luckily Mick/Faye were at Waurn Pond shops so that worked in well.

At last night's Club meeting the Member's passed a motion that the Club will for the next 6 months make a monthly donation of $1k in foodstuffs and other items through and with the support of our Local Champions IGA Supermarket in Grovedale to the Uniting Food For Families Food Program(Bank).
This morning we placed our First order which is now with IGA who will fill and families will receive goods prior to Christmas.
This picture shows proceeds purchased earlier in the year from a smaller donation our Club made to the same Program.
This is an example of how our Club supports our local Community.
We have been very fortunate also to have 2 BBQ's granted to us at BUNNINGS WAURN PONDS during December, one was today which was very successful with our next one to be held on TUESDAY 23rd December, so if you are in the area call in and say hello and join in the Banter with our Club Members.

Lion Laurie is like the Scarlett Pimpernell, he turns up here, he turns up there and then he turns up everywhere. Laurie is one of our Unsung Lion Club Members, who even though he has had a very tough health run of late, it hasn't stopped him from giving to our Community.
In Charge of our Shed needs, washing BBQ utensils, packing over 5000 pairs of recycle glasses and looking after a few of our Christmas Cake outlets, and a great Tale teller, Laurie shows what dedication to Community and Lions is about, HELPING OTHERS..
This photo shows Laurie with our Cake display at his newest outlet, South Barwon Community Centre in Mt Pleasant Road Belmont. And the smile on his face is always there, and you know he is ready to tell a joke.
