The next film in olur 2015 Lineup is award winning WINTER SLEEP.
2014 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner, WINTER SLEEP, is set in a village in Cappadocia, where houses are carved into the rocky terrain. Former actor Aydin, lives here in the Hotel Othello, which he inherited from his father.
In winter, visiting tourists are thin on the ground, so Aydin spends much of his time writing a book on the history of Turkish theatre. He also owns property in the district and is a harsh landlord, which is causing discontent among his impoverished tenants.
Meanwhile his much younger wife, Nihal, is becoming increasingly frustrated at being controlled by her dominating husband.
WINTER SLEEP characters are all multi-layered and intriguing and this is unquestionably one of the most intelligent and accomplished films released in recent times.
