Aside from being given low wages, back breaking work, endless emotional generosity and workplace abuse, Nurses also get gaslight, often, online.

There was a stream of other posters on this thread that piled on to minimise this nurses feelings.

Women are tired of giving so much then being talked over.

Hear her roar...or face her in your most vulnerable moments when she is angry.

Some positive news for trainee nurses. They will still be accruing HECS debt but at least they will be given a rudimentary payment for their prac placements - in line with police and ambulance staff.

Midwives and social workers will also be given a $320 weekly payment for undertaking mandatory work placements at university

Nurses asked for pay increases and better working conditions. NSW didn't provide it.

So these Nurses went and found it elsewhere. I hope you enjoy your botox, school nurse and barista - powered by previous nurses.

Your healthcare system just got more expensive than those pay increases.

and teachers are next.🚪

It has been estimated that junior doctors routinely work around 16 hours of overtime a week, most of it unpaid.

Studies have found this demand has left trainee doctors exhausted and stressed and increased the chances of clinical errors due to the excessive workload, which has raised concerns that the burnout affecting junior medicos was putting patients at risk.

We need employers to do the right thing by their staff, not tie up millions in legal fees. We need structural change to ensure fair pay and safe staffing.

The Federal Court’s ruling against Peninsula Health could set a precedent for junior doctors from hospitals across the country being awarded hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation.

"This is an amazing day to get 8.5 per cent [salary increase].while others are getting four.

It makes literally the difference between buying bread, buying milk, not being able to buy both." 👏

The union had threatened industrial action from Monday, arguing the NSW government's offer of 4 per cent to all public sector workers was inadequate and would not meet the rising cost of living.

Registered nurses have been offered a 4.5% wage increase from July 1st, however it falls short of inflation and well short of the Fair Work Commission's recommendation o f a 15% increase.

Only aged care workers will receive a 15% increase but nurses working outside of an aged care setting, in public hospitals, or paramedics, will be given an increase that falls short of inflation. That means, their wages are going backwards in real terms.

Perhaps the government could consider subsidising our nurses before they subsidise our polluting super-profiting corporations. Nurses deserve better.

The purpose of this claim is to convince workers that they can fight for genuine improvements to pay and conditions within the union bureaucracy, despite the betrayals of the past.

Why was the Morrison government so cavalier with taxpayer funds to medical companies - but couldn't care enough about protecting patients in aged care before opening up? Or supporting the states' healthcare workers.

That money could and should have been spent according to merit-based and transparent processes.

This behaviour from our leaders is sick. 🤢😡

For those of you who don't know, our co-Founder and President, Joeline Hackman had been advocating to politicians for some time.

Nurses and Paramedics asked for a fair wage, and nurse to patient ratios for safe staffing. Joeline knew that this meant changing state government legislation and she engaged with politicians and unions for some time before deciding to run for election herself, in the state seat of Manly.

Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers in our community who stepped up to help (some pictured) including Dr Peter Macdonald, Dr Craig Richards, Dr Joanne Stow, Nurses Valerie and Cate Brookbank, .barefoot.nurse , Dr Rosemary Ashton and many concerned relatives of Medics.

We need people to be active in politics to hold the government to account on delivering for our community.

Ultimately, and her team earned 45% of the 2 candidate preferred vote but did not secure the necessary 51% to win a seat.

Nurses, you know that I am thinking of you all the time.

There is no magical man in a suit delivering our Community's wish list - so I've put it top of my Health Policy list instead.

✅️ Save $69 million, 145 lives and nurse trauma per hospital per year by implementing safe staffing nurse-to-patient ratios for public and private hospitals that are publicly displayed. Make safe staffing ratios a KPI for Hospital CEOs.

✅️ Mental health, self-harm and eating disorder beds at Northern Beaches Hospital for under 18 year olds.

Let's get this done in March 2023.
