Garage Sale prep is officially underway! 🏡♻️

Our little helpers were put to work this weekend, delivering welcome packs to our garage sale hosts around Hilton. 💌 There may have been a little hot chocolate bribery involved along the way. 😂☕️

Meanwhile, our own garage sale pile is growing, the price stickers are going on and we’re getting VERY excited.

🎉 BONUS SALE ALERT!

We’re sneaking just outside Hilton for an extra stop on the Community Garage Sale map!

Panama Studio in Beaconsfield is opening up its warehouse for a huge one-day clearance sale, and I’ve had a sneak peek… there is some seriously good stuff in there. 👀

A lot of it is ex-display styling stock used to furnish and style homes for sale, so think furniture, rugs, artwork, mirrors, cushions, bedding, homewares and décor, all ready to find new homes.

📍 Panama Studio, 2/11 Mather Road, Beaconsfield
📅 Saturday 5 September
⏰ 8am–12pm

Definitely one to add to your garage sale route!

Putting together our Community Garage Sale host packs this evening! 🏡♻️

Every registered host gets a little pack to help get sale-ready, including selling hints & tips, pricing labels and a marker so you can price everything ahead of time, plus a handy preparation checklist.

And the weather is looking good for Saturday too! ☀️

If you’ve been thinking about joining in, there’s still time. You can host a garage sale from your own home, or if you don’t have the space (or enough stuff for a whole garage sale!), have a stall at Hilton Harvest Community Garden.

We’ll add everyone to the official Community Garage Sale map so shoppers know exactly where to find you.

🌺 Have you noticed Hilton turning red?

These Coral Trees have been part of our neighbourhood for more than 20 years, and right now they’re putting on quite the show.

Other suburbs have their Jacarandas. Maybe these should be Hilton’s thing? ❤️🌳

Coral Tree Festival, anyone? 👀

Hilton Park update: Special Meeting of Electors

The City of Fremantle has confirmed that works to develop the sports grounds at Hilton Park have been temporarily paused following a petition calling for a Special Meeting of Electors.

The meeting will be held:

📅 Tuesday 15 September 2026
⏰ 6.30pm
📍 Fremantle Town Hall

It is important to understand that a Special Meeting of Electors is not simply an information session or an opportunity to listen to presentations.

City of Fremantle electors attending the meeting can participate in the meeting process, including moving and seconding motions, speaking to motions and voting.

Motions may be submitted ahead of the meeting, and the meeting process can also allow motions to be raised on the night. The electors present then vote on the motions before them.

Any resolutions passed at the Special Meeting do not automatically become decisions of Council. They must be considered by Council. The City has advised that resolutions from this meeting will be considered at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday 23 September.

There are a range of views in our community about the future of Hilton Park. Whether you support the current plans, oppose them, or would like to see an alternative approach, participation matters.

If you are a City of Fremantle elector and want your view represented in this process, this is an important meeting to attend.

Hilton Precinct will continue to share further information about the meeting, motions and how to participate as it becomes available.

Other suburbs are famous for the purple blanket of jacarandas. I think Hilton should be famous for our red flame trees ❤️🌳

Maybe a Flame Tree Festival? 🤔

Edit: Coral Trees - I have a lot To learn from our GVT crew

Edit 2: I’ve received some additional information about Hilton’s much-loved red flowering trees from Stewart, the Local History Librarian at the City of Fremantle.

He has confirmed that the trees are Erythrina sykesii (Coral Trees) and were planted more than 20 years ago as part of the Local Centres Program.

So while they’re not native to WA, they do have an established history in Hilton and were deliberately planted as part of an earlier local improvement program.

A big thank you to Stewart for digging into the history and providing this information. ❤️🌳

Spring Harvest returns on 12 September 2026, with live music from Hilton’s own Lachy John.

Spring Harvest is coming up, and we need a few extra hands to help make sure it’s a great night! 🌱🍕🍷

If you’re coming along and can spare a little bit of time to volunteer, we’d really appreciate the help. You absolutely don’t need to volunteer for the whole night — even a short shift means you can lend a hand and still have plenty of time to enjoy the event.

There are a few different jobs to help with throughout the evening, so if you can give us some of your time, please sign up here:

A big thank you to C&CO Real Estate for sponsoring Spring Harvest and helping us bring another great community night to Hilton. 💚
