Federal, Eureka & Goonengerry Community-led Resilience Team - CRT has been established by community volunteers to strengthen resilience and connection in the community. The CRTs activities will focus on helping the communities of Federal, Eureka and Goonengerry to prepare, respond and recover from disaster. What a great turn out for our community meeting yesterday Federal Halls!

Great timing too, as today there is a TOTAL FIRE BAN in place and storms forecast for tomorrow!

What we do know is KNOWLEDGE, PREPAREDNESS and CONNECTION is empowering in these extreme weather events!

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WINDS for people in Northern Rivers and parts of Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Issued at 1:47 pm Saturday, 18 October 2025.

Severe thunderstorms developing in the northeast of the state.

Weather Situation: A southerly change pushing up the northern NSW coast, and a surface trough extending inland, are both helping to initiate thunderstorms in the northeastern parts of the state this afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to persist into the early evening.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours.

Locations which may be affected include Lismore, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Kyogle, Yamba, Tabulam, Evans Head and Jackadgery

** The CRT will be holding a community meeting Sunday 26th Oct, 10-11.30am at Federal Hall. More info shortly.

** The CRT are currently busy testing our equipment and protocols

Goonengerry, Tuesday 1st April 10am- 1pm outside the school!

Mullumbimby and District Neighbourhood Centre will be back next week with their mobile resource van visiting our area. They can help with accessing grants and other support post Alfred.
