πŸ’—πŸ¦πŸ’— This week on Primary Perspectives, Ahelee, Madeline & Sahesi present a β€˜Walk on the Wild Side’ Special Tribute to Dian Fossey and the world of gorillas! The team cross to UK to speak with renowned conservationist Ian Redmond OBE, Head of Conservation at Ecoflix, who started his career as a field biologist and research assistant to Dian in 1976. Ian has worked on several landmark wildlife documentaries with Sir David Attenborough and recalls the historic moment when the young gorilla 'Pablo' sat on top of David as he was filming the BBC's 'Life on Earth' series, in what is now one of the most famous scenes in wildlife documentaries! The Netflix documentary 'A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough' was released in April this year and traces Pablo's life from that pivotal moment that Ian witnessed, to Pablo's current descendants. See trailer here https://www.imdb.com/video/vi2116864793/?playlistId=tt39314348&ref_=tt_ov_ov_vi

The team also speak with International filmmaker Sara Grayson (Hine), who filmed mountain gorillas across locations where Dian spent much of her time observing her troops of gorillas. Plus, sustainability consultant James Porteous talks about his time working with western lowland gorillas in the remote Lope Reserve in Gabon, which became the largest conservation zone in the Congo basin. It's a super informative show!
