'The 20kW DC on-board charger will be fitted in a single patrol van and will be able to provide around one kilometre of range per minute of charging – meaning a 20-minute roadside visit can deliver enough charge to get an EV up and going enough to get home or to a nearby charging station.'

Motoring group says it will begin trialling a mobile DC fast charger as part of its Emergency Roadside Assistance patrol fleet, and will also trial an EV as a patrol car.

Melburnians have the poorest access to national parks and protected landscapes in Australia, a deficit that has accelerated as the population booms and threatens the famed world-class liveability of Victoria.

“This is not simply an environmental issue; it’s a health and cost-of-living issue,” said environmental campaigner Sarah Rees, a co-author a new study. https://tinyurl.com/yjd4pvz9

“It’s time to stop thinking of climate change as “merely” an environmental issue, which can be discarded when economic times are tough. Instead, we should recognise what it really is: a current and ongoing threat to our standard of living.”

It’s time to recognise climate change for what it is. A new study shows it’s a current and ongoing threat to our standard of living.

The climate talks in Bonn kicked off today, and we're watching closely. Here's why you should too.

Türkiye and Australia are set to host COP31 in November, and at Bonn we’ll get an idea of what their joint presidency aims to achieve.

The task at hand: to produce a draft decision for a just transition mechanism; an orderly shift from a fossil-fuel dependant world to a greener one.

This decision will be sent for approval at COP31. The more discussion that takes place now, the more relevant this process becomes for real outcomes. This was put best by Flávia Bellaguarda, a COP30 advisor:

"We managed to get the elephant into the room. Now, it needs to stay there. For that, we need to give him plenty of food so he can’t fit through the door and leave.

We achieve that with dialogue, and creating space for genuine exchange."

This is the space for countries to decide what moves forward to COP31. It’s also where we can push leaders to align on solutions that matter to us.

Many organizations, including ours, have advocated for the just transition to provide decent jobs, public investment, and support for affected communities.
