Scouting is such an incredible opportunity for kids to build confidence, make friends, learn life skills, get outdoors and most importantly — have fun in a safe, supportive environment.
If you’ve got a child who loves adventure, games, camping, creativity, or just needs a positive social outlet, Scouts could be a perfect fit. (Your first 3 visits are free)
We’re a friendly, family-oriented group and would love to welcome new families into Playford Scouts.
If you’re interested or want more info, feel free to comment below or message me directly. Happy to answer any questions!
Let’s keep Scouting strong in our local community 💚⚜️

Today, a part of the Playford Scout family hit the highway down to Hallett Cove Scout Hall for an action-packed session of indoor rock climbing and crate stacking — and what a day it was! 🙌
It was incredible to witness our youth in action: building confidence, supporting one another, and stepping well outside their comfort zones, all within an amazing community of like-minded people. These moments are exactly what Scouting is about.
I am so proud of what our kids achieved today.
Stage 1 & 2 ticked off! From conquering new heights, learning the do’s and don’ts of climbing, understanding how to stay safe and steady, to mastering the critical knots needed for climbing — every challenge was met with courage and determination.
Even Quoll learned a new knot today! 😄
A huge day of growth, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.

A huge thanks to Chris, Joshua Christophers Hannah Millard for spending the afternoon making this event incredible

Today's Botanical Gardens picnic and hike was a blast! The Joeys took on public transport like pros, navigating it solo. We hung out with the local wildlife – from the native bee farm to bunnies, turtles, bin chickens, and water birds. Our buddy system and patrol work helped us explore the gardens, with the Joeys choosing a path that led us to some stunning views.

We clocked a solid 7km walk, which is definitely going in the record books! Plus, we hit some other milestones that'll lead to some cool badge work soon. Huge thanks to Arthur for leading the adventure and Alice for being an awesome assistant. We took breaks and checked out the veggie patch, learning about different veggies, herbs, and fruits. We got to smell everything from lavender to rosemary and even citrus, realizing that even dying flowers can still be beautiful and fragrant.

We faced a few challenges, but we learned about resilience and how Scouts keep moving forward. On the way home, we shared our favorite moments and thought about what we could do even better next time. Check out the photos from the Joeys and leaders – enjoy!

Playford Scout Group at the Elizabeth RSL Dawn Service

This morning, 10 of our amazing youth members proudly represented Playford Scout Group at the Elizabeth RSL’s Dawn Service. They were absolutely brilliant, with many attendees commenting on how well-behaved and respectful they were throughout the event.

I felt an overwhelming sense of pride watching the scouts attend the ANZAC Day dawn service, standing tall in their uniforms and paying their respects with such sincerity.

Their presence at the ceremony reflected a deep understanding of the values of remembrance, service, and community. It was heartening to see the younger generation honouring the sacrifices of those who came before them, showing maturity beyond their years. They represented their troop—and their country—with dignity and respect.

A special shoutout to Gabrielle and Xavier, who were hand-picked for their outstanding behaviour and given the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of our Group. What a proud moment!

With such a strong presence this year, 2026 might see even more responsibility handed to our incredible youth.

Well done, team—this is what Scouting is all about!

Scouts help foster a strong sense of civic duty within their communities by encouraging active participation in local issues and service. Through their various projects, they learn the importance of giving back to the community and making a positive impact.

Our scouts are also taught to be active and engaged citizens who respect the law, contribute to their communities, and advocate for positive change.

This is our Playford Scouts demonstrating their role in the community. Flag Party for the City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty, during yesterday's Citizenship Ceremony.

We are thankful our youth can participate in the beginning years of their Scouting journey.

Sometimes, being in scouting as an adult, you get some opportunities, just as the youth do.

Like, meeting your childhood idol.

How do you think our Joey Leader, Jared was feeling in this moment? Nostalgic?

Yesterday, Playford Scout Group, along with other members from the Ridley District, participated in Flag Raising Ceremonies for our Australia Day Celebrations at Freemont Park.

Our youth were responsible for being in the honour guard as our flag party completed their responsibilities.

We were commented on how our youth behaved during this time, and they should be very proud.

Being a part of community, supporting and upholding the values of our community is very important to us in Scouting.

We contribute to our communities and our world, helping other people. That's our promise.
