What a fantastic Initiative!

To mark , Unlimit Health, as a proud member of the UK Coalition Against NTDs, will co-host a parliamentary reception at the Houses of Parliament in London.

Event Theme: “Leaving No One Behind: Reaching 1 billion people affected by NTDs”

The reception will take place on 4 February, positioning NTDs as both a moral imperative and a strategic entry point for achieving the UK’s development priorities—strengthening health systems, empowering women and girls, and fulfilling “leave no one behind” commitments.

The UK Coalition Against NTDs will urge the UK Government to:
✔️ Reinstate its global leadership on NTDs

🌍 January 30 is World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day.

Over 1.6 billion people are affected by tropical diseases, including 20 million with lymphoedema caused by lymphatic filariasis or podoconiosis 👣

Lymphatic filariasis is caused by parasitic worms spread through mosquito bites. These worms mature in the lymphatic system, leading to blockages and inflammation. Podoconiosis, chronic inflammation of the lymphatic vessels of the legs, results from prolonged barefoot exposure to irritant minerals in red clay soil, common in volcanic highland regions of Africa, Central America and Southeast Asia. Both conditions cause severe disability and require ongoing care to prevent complications, reduce stigma and improve quality of life.

LKN programs to promote Community-Based Home-Care in neglected communities, providing life-changing self-care training for individuals and families,

We can’t do it alone. Together, we can build a healthier tomorrow.

🙏 Please donate today.

👣Taking Steps to Support Neglected Communities👣

🌍 January 30 is World NTD Day, for the 1.6 billion+ people who are affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTD). This includes 20 million of the worlds most neglected people living with the devastating effects of lymphoedema caused by lymphatic filariasis or podoconiosis.

Lymphatic filariasis a parasitic worm spread through mosquito bites. The mature worms make 'nests' in the lymphatic system, leading to blockages and secondary infections. Podoconiosis causes lymphoedema due to prolonged barefoot exposure to irritant soils in the volcanic highlands of Africa, Central America and Southeast Asia.

Both conditions cause severe disability and require ongoing care to prevent complications, reduce stigma and improve quality of life.

LKN Foundation works directly with local NGO's and Health Staff to promote foot hygiene and raise awareness though Community-Based Home-Care Workshops for individuals and families, and local health workers.

LKN Foundation Workshops offer life-changing self-care training to neglected communities, helping individuals and families manage chronic oedema.

Please help us to raise awareness on World NTD Day. Like and share this post to promote the work of the LKN Foundation in delivering sustainable solutions, including self-care, advocacy, and partnerships.
