RESCUE IS HARD:

This afternoon one of the lovely vet nurses from Ermington Veterinary Surgery called me as a member of the public found this newborn in the gutter not far from the clinic.

Carolina warmed up the kitten and asked if we could help. Nadege and Claudine who are experienced neonatal carers, picked up the kitten within 30 mins.

We think discarded by mum as possible not viable but we always try. Claudine has messaged me to say not not looking good atm, but they are still trying.

They have named this little one Raine. Thank you to the finders, Ermington Veterinary Surgery and to Claudine and Nadege for stepping up for this little one.

Let's keep Raine in our thoughts tonight and hope for a miracle x

ADOPTION UPDATE:

It's just under six weeks since Felicity came into our care from Animal Referral Hospital at Homebush.

She had arrived there in August, via a member of the public that had found her unable to walk properly on her back legs, right side being extremely lame. On examination several puncture wound were noted over hind legs, abdomen and inguinal region.
This resulted in an inguinal hernia.
There were also some broken teeth noted.

Your kind donations ensured her hernia was repaired, dental completed, spey done and puncture wounds attended to.

She had a meet last week with Sofia and yesterday she returned to take Felicity on an adoption trial. It's a trial because there's another cat and we will see how they get along over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you Ermington Veterinary Surgery as always and of course Sofia and family for giving Felicity a chance of a new home.

Good luck Felicity x

Meet Astrid 🙂

This lovely girl was found abandoned on our local streets by a wonderful couple who have sponsored her vet care.

She's around 2 years of age, was obviously owned as a kitten as friendly, but sadly no microchip or desexing.

We have started her vet care and her desexing will take place early in the week.

Astrid will be available next weekend for meets at Ermington

ADOPTION UPDATE:

Kit Kat was sitting at a NSW Country Pound when Brandon, who was volunteering delivering supplies to country pounds via Warm Paws - Supply Donations for Rural Pounds NSW saw her. The pound is over 8 hours away from Sydney and not really set up for cats, so he asked if we could take her and we agreed.

She has waited for a few months for someone to notice her and this week Skye did.

He had recently lost his senior cat to cancer and was looking for a companion cat. the two of them bonded instantly.

Yesterday he called to say she's taken over and he loves her :-)

Thank you to everyone involved in her rescue, our monthly sponsors/donator's that enable us to do this work and of course Skye for adopting her.

Have a wonderful life darling :-)

A LOVELY UPDATE:

Carrot was left at Animal Referral Hospital, Homebush in December by a member of the public.

When Jess picked up Hendrix who had been at ARH for intensive care over Christmas, they asked if we could take Carrot and she said yes.

He got adopted by Alice and Matt early in the New Year and today they sent us these lovely photos of Carrot who is now Mango :-) Alice said "He is our joy. The most affectionate bundle of love we could ever have hoped for."

Thank you both so much for giving this lovely boy a fresh start in his life :-)

MUMMY CAT SPLASH IS READY TO MEET YOU:

As you know Spash came in with her kittens 3 weeks ago after being found in a local colony.

Her kittens are 8 weeks of age now and although still a week or two off desexing, they are now separated from their mum as she was starting to get annoyed with them lol

Her desexing has been undertaken along with her other vet work so this friendly, pretty princess is waiting to meet you at Ermington.

She's a big kitten herself being just over one year old, so still very playful 🙂

I'M ADELAIDE AND NO ONE HAS COME TO MEET ME YET:

I arrived at the rescue in May 24 as a wee sick kitten. Casa took me under her wing and I've gone from sick kitten to a chunky girl 4.5 kg's at 2.5 years of age.

I'm told I have the saddest tabby face 😞

I think that's why people pass me by 😞

All my vet work is up to date and I'm a purring machine looking for love. I've never met a dog, but ok with other cats.

Please can someone at least meet me?

INCOMING:

The third of our kittens that arrived in care yesterday is Jackie 🙂

As mentioned before, their mother has been adopted by the finder and is being desexed 🙂

Jackie is a sweet little charcoal tabby. You can see her amazing markings and beautiful coat. She's undergone her first health check and received a vaccination, microchip, flea/worming. She's still too small to desex as only around 900g, but we are taking expressions of interest in her.

A BUSY SATURDAY MORNING:

As most of you know I'm always at Ermington Veterinary Surgery on Saturday mornings with cats coming and going from the rescue plus lending a hand where I can at the surgery with the animals coming through the door or grabbing a phone for them.

Today was fully booked at the clinic and all clients were so lovely plus I caught up with Bohdi formally Skid and Moses formally Bagel :-)

It was lovely to see them both coming in for their annual vax and check ups. Great to see their owners again as well who are such lovely people.

Norm one of our lovely volunteers also popped in with one of his cats. He is such a great help to the rescue, as he removes all boxes from food deliveries plus other rubbish that accumulates for us on a monthly basis.

I'm going to sit and plan tmr now x

INCOMING:

Franchesco's sister is little Church. She's a gorgeous torti girl and as mentioned below, she's 8 weeks of age.

We received 11 applications for our other torti girl Fleur, so hoping some of you would like to meet Church.

She's has her initial vet work this morning but is still under one kilos so won't be ready for desexing for a couple of weeks.
