Leg 6 Kununurra to Broome. Our longest day yet. We flew over lots of fires in the north west of the country, a comfort break at Mount Elizabeth station with the best meat pies and lamingtons. Collected more fuel at Derbythen down the spectacular coastline to Broome

Leg 5 Katherine to Kununurra. We flew over a few of the places we visited last year on our Lap around Australia. Unfortunately there was a fair bit of smoke around so the views were a bit hazy

After making it safely to Katherine, Steven was onto installing the new alternator and I tackled the washing and had some well needed time to relax by the pool in the 37degree heat. We also enjoyed a night at the Outback Experience.

So it was an eventful third leg for us. We left Tennant creek for Daly waters and with about 30 mins to go had an alternator failure. We decided to look for a closer runway and diverted to hayfields station and landed safely. Lucky the guy who built the plane was with us so he could fix it using all his bush mechanic skills. Needless to say we were about 4.5 hours late on our estimated time of arrival in Daly waters so from 1st to last in 24hours. The bush mechanic fix enabled us to get from Daly waters to Katherine. Thanks to our brains trust on the east coast for sourcing some much needed new parts and info to get us going again.
