I’ve been asked this morning about what was the highlight of this years Bash, and after some reflection I can’t really put my finger on just one!
Spending 10+ days with like minded good people to visiting remote regional communities and witnessing how small impacts create the greatest changes - they are all highlights! Seeing how kids engage with learning using interactive whiteboards to starting the their day with a breakfast club - to me it goes to show that no matter where you live, you matter! Our kids matter! And if we as a group can help them achieve dreams beyond their imagination, then we’re in!
Each and every team on the Bash have worked hard to raise funds - putting in countless hours, roped in friends and family for what is basically slave labour and thought of new ways to achieve their goals. Our Qld kids benefit and our regional communities benefit!
A massive thank you goes to the team at Variety Qld HQ…. Without them we couldn’t do what we do best. From herding cats, finding new bash routes, organizing how to feed 320 people multiple times a day, finding those same people places to sleep every night, mechanics who keep old cars running after we’ve beat the s**t out of them to Erin’s famous morning TED talks - the Variety Bash wouldn’t be what it is without them. So from all of us - we thank you from the bottom of our dusty little hearts!
See you all in Roma in 2027!
