Only one week to go until World Bongo Day.​

Fewer than 100 mountain bongos are believed to remain in the wild today, hidden within Kenya’s montane forests.​

This critically endangered species faces ongoing threats from habitat loss, forest degradation, and human pressure, making conservation efforts more urgent than ever.​

This World Bongo Day, we are aiming to raise USD 5,000 to support ranger patrols, camera trap monitoring, habitat protection, conservation education initiatives, and forest restoration efforts.​

At the Mountain Bongo Project, we work alongside partners, rangers, and local communities to help protect Kenya’s remaining wild mountain bongos and the forests they depend on.​
