What an inspiring day for Whittlesea Climate Action Network(WCAN) at Climate Convergence! 🌿✨
Our WCAN members; Liz, Maggie, Ray, Chloe, Cath & Suni joined more than 170 passionate climate advocates from nearly 100 community groups across Victoria. It was incredibly powerful to be in a space filled with people who care deeply about our communities, climate, and collective future.

It might seem confusing that we all have different names but we are all Neighbourhood Houses! Drop in and come and say hello!

(We couldn't wait to share but acknowledge the little correction needed for our loved Whittlesea Community House not Neighbourhood House).

❤️Happy Neighbourhood House Week to all the fabulous Neighbourhood Houses in the City of Whittlesea!!❤️

Did you know there are over 400 Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria? Imagine all the community members that make a Neighborhood House their place to connect, learn and be a part of community life!

In celebration of Neighbourhood House Week the Mernda Men's Shed delivered 21 nesting boxes to Melbourne Arboretum! The impact of helping future generations of birds on the farm will be incredible.

Such diverse activities and actions that come from Neighbourhood Houses is rewarding but we need to keep pressure up to State Gov to increase our depleted funding.

An update on the Victorian Government budget outcome. After months of campaigning and over 10,000 postcards delivered to parliament, the restoration of funding in real terms to the Neighbourhood 🏠 House sector has been DECLINED. Staff at Neighbourhood Houses will continue to struggle to ❤️ We won't give up the fight for a 25
% increase to funding.
Please contact Lauren Kathage MP to ensure this is made as an election promise!
