Please follow the rules. Our emergency services many who are also leaders of scout groups across the state need your support.

⚠️ EXTREME FIRE WEATHER ⚠️

Extreme and Catastrophic fire weather has been forecast across Victoria tomorrow, Friday 9 January 2026. As a result, a TOTAL FIRE BAN has been declared state-wide.

What does this mean ?

❌ Do not operate farming machinery that could overheat or spark
❌ Do not use power tools (e.g. angle grinders)
❌ Do not, under any circumstances, light a fire
❌ Do not use any type of BBQ

These are dangerous fire conditions. Fire will spread quickly, will be extremely dangerous and will threaten lives, property, and communities in no time.

If you see smoke, suspicious or dangerous activity, call 000 immediately, do not wait or hesitate !

If a fire starts, TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION and go to a safer location.

Before today comes to an end, make sure you have an emergency kit ready and a bushfire survival plan in place❗️

This morning, our Chief Commissioner, Rod Byrnes, and youth member Sasha appeared live on ABC News to speak about the national social media changes and the growing interest in Scouting as families look for real-world connection and fun.

Scouting gives young people the chance to get outdoors, build confidence, try new things and be part of a supportive community. With the new rules beginning today, there has never been a better time to choose adventure.

Proud to see our youth and Leaders representing Scouting so brilliantly.
