Leading for Inclusion: Women and Girls in Sport

Active Tasmania's Leading for Inclusion Workforce Capability Program supports clubs, State Sporting Organisations (SSOs), coaches, officials, volunteers and sport leaders to
create safe, welcoming and inclusive sporting environments.

In 2026, the program focuses on women and girls in sport, with a series of practical workshops designed to support participation, retention and leadership across Tasmania's sport and active recreation sector.

Workshops include:
✅ Coach and Officials Workshops (Hobart and Launceston – August 2026)
✅ Changing the Game: Creating Inclusive Sporting Environments for Women and Girls (Hobart – September 2026)

This is great opportunity for those helping our sport grow in the state including coaches, officials, volunteers and committee members.

Don't forgot your sport licences!
In the new system you have to purchase your membership, then pop back into and add your licences, so easy to miss this step. Buy any you need at the same time to get the lower price per horse.

The EA guides have an 'How To' to help you out - or always feel free to call the office and Lynsey will process over the phone for you.

Equestrian Tasmania wish to acknowledge the sudden passing of Elaine Gee.

Elaine was a valued long term member of Equestrian Tasmania for many years and contributed greatly to the sport.

She was a dedicated member of Jumping North and was valued for her many years of involvement in the sport.

Elaine always offered kindness, encouragement and unwavering support to those around her and brought much joy to her family, friends and the Equestrian Community.

On behalf of Equestrian Tasmania and our membership we extend our deepest condolences to Elaine's husband Rodney and their two young boys as well as her extended family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Awards Night at the Country Club Launceston. It was a fantastic evening, wonderfully MC'd by Claire, whom we thank very much, and included all disciplines celebrating riders, horses and volunteers.
So special to see everyone together, a great reminder of what a wonderful community and friendships are created through a shared passion or horses.

Thank you to This Day Photography for capturing the night, click the link to see the full gallery and download your photos.

UPDATE - We want to keep you informed regarding the opening of 2026/27 membership renewals.
It was our intention to open renewals today, however before going live we identified some configuration issues and we therefore made the hard decision to hold off whilst these are resolved.
We felt this was the right thing to do for our members.

We understand this adds to what has already been a frustrating wait and we sincerely thank you for your patience and ongoing support of equestrian sport in Tasmania. We will be in touch as soon as this is resolved.

Please don't hesitate to contact the office if required.

We want to keep you informed about the status of 2026/27 membership renewals.

Renewals are not yet open. Before state renewals can go live through the JustGo platform, the configuration of state fees and levies, as well as EA levies and insurance, must be finalised at a national level. There are currently some unexpected delays in this process that are outside of our control.

We understand this is causing uncertainty for members with upcoming events and competitions. We will be in touch by email as soon as renewals are open.

Thank you for your understanding.
