If you could ask Dr Stephen Peters one question about your horse's brain, what would it be?

Perhaps it is something you have noticed in training. A behaviour you don't quite understand. A question about fear, learning, memory, pressure, curiosity, regulation or the horse-human connection.

Dr Peters prefers to receive questions before his presentations so he has time to consider them as he prepares, and we would love some of those questions to come directly from you.

So this is your invitation: What would you like to understand better about the horse?

What a week for our Interschools riders, horses and supporters!

Tassie has had some outstanding results at the National Interschool Championships, and we couldn't be prouder of the entire team. An extra congratulatons to the following riders who placed...

🏆 Sasha Alexander and Lethal Charm took out the EVA80! Sasha didn't stop there. Riding Lethal Sensation, Sasha won the Intermediate Novice 2.3, came 2nd in the Intermediate Novice 2.2, and claimed the overall Intermediate Novice Championship. AND.... placed 2nd in the 80cm Combined Training. The team cheers were loud! Well done Team Sasha.

🥈 Alex Scott and Steam Roller finished 2nd in the EVA95 and won the OTT. Alongside her teammates, Alex helped the Tassie team to 4th place. Such an amazing result

🥉 Kye Ford and Shazadi Texas Park Ranger were all smiles with 4th in the 90cm Jumping. Congratulations Kye!

To every rider who competed across Show Horse, Jumping, Combined Training and Eventing: congratulations! Representing Tasmania takes dedication, and we're so proud of you all, along with the horses, families, coaches and supporters who got you there.

Show Jumping is just finishing up - good luck to the last riders out there - then the fun of the closing ceremony to go...

The Tasmanian Government’s Ticket to Wellbeing program opens tomorrow at 9am. You can apply for a $100 voucher to use towards the cost of sport and active recreation membership and/or registration if you live in Tasmania, are 65 years old or over, and are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card. Apply via tickettowellbeing.tas.gov.au or visit a local Service Tasmania Centre to apply in person. Please note that applications will close once all available vouchers are issued in this round.

This little step makes a big difference

When entering a competition, please double-check that your entry and profile information matches your EA records exactly:

✅ Membership Number
✅ Member Name
✅ Horse Registration Number
✅ Horse Name (no apostrophes)

Also worth checking - does your horse need a sport licence? Make sure it's purchased before you enter.

Getting these details right the first time saves your volunteer organising committee a huge amount of time chasing missing info or fixing errors, and means your results are recorded accurately. We really appreciate accurate entries - thank you!

Leading for Inclusion: Women and Girls in Sport

Active Tasmania's Leading for Inclusion Workforce Capability Program supports clubs, State Sporting Organisations (SSOs), coaches, officials, volunteers and sport leaders to
create safe, welcoming and inclusive sporting environments.

In 2026, the program focuses on women and girls in sport, with a series of practical workshops designed to support participation, retention and leadership across Tasmania's sport and active recreation sector.

Workshops include:
✅ Coach and Officials Workshops (Hobart and Launceston – August 2026)
✅ Changing the Game: Creating Inclusive Sporting Environments for Women and Girls (Hobart – September 2026)

This is great opportunity for those helping our sport grow in the state including coaches, officials, volunteers and committee members.
