We’re kicking off the first Saltbush Line Community Planting Day, and you’re invited.

Together we’re returning our locally grown plants to the dunes, strengthening the coastline by working with the landscape, not against it. Every seedling helps stabilise the foredunes at Okines Beach and grows a healthier, more resilient coast for our community.

If you’ve been curious about the Saltbush Line, this is the moment to jump in.

Bring your layers and your good vibes, we’ll supply the plants, tools, guidance, and morning tea from Park Café.

SBLC, together with Dodges Ferry Primary School, Sorell Council and Hobart Airport Group, is proud to share the new educational signage now in place at Flora Park.

These signs honour the biodiversity, fragility and deep significance of this reserve. It is one of the largest in the Sorell Municipality, safeguarded by the community.

As we mark National Volunteer Week, we’re especially grateful for the people whose hands and hearts keep this place thriving.

Flora Park Signage: Launch Event

Celebrate the launch of our new educational signage at Flora Park, created with Dodges Ferry Primary School students, and supported by Sorell Council. A proud moment of community effort, collaboration, and care for this special place.

Join us for the unveiling of the signs, a nature walk around Flora Park, and morning tea.

This project was supported by a 2025 Hobart Airport Grant.
