Our thoughts are with those at the QCWA Branch in Flying Fish point. Sad to see their much love branch, with so much history destroyed!

Terrible news this morning that the Flying Fish Point branch have lost their hall to fire.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the members and the community.
We will provide more information as it becomes available and support the community as we rebuild.

The fire at Alice street flying fish point atarted around 830pm last night. A lady in her 90s was staying in the Qcwa cottage and neighbours came to wake her up and move her to another residence nearby. She was not in need of any treatment. Fire fighters were back on the scene this morning at 8am to put out the smouldering remains. The hall is completely destroyed and the cottage has some external damage as well as smoke damage. Investigations are continuing around the cause of the fire but speculation has been made around a power outage at the same time of the fire. Branch members will continue to meet at an alternative location and look forward to rebuilding the hall in the near future. All are in positive spirits.

Dimbulah – A Time to Shine

Dimbulah State School is proud to invite students, families, and community members to take part in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 1 March, from 9:00–10:30am.

This is a community event focused on caring for our local environment and showing pride in our town.

Event Details
📍 Location: Dimbulah State School
🕘 Date / Time: Sunday 1 March / 9:00am – 10:30am
📌 Meeting Point: Front of the school for a 9:00am briefing

Participants will work together to clean up designated areas before returning to the school to enjoy a sausage sizzle to finish the morning.

Everyone is welcome - bring your family, wear sun-safe clothing, and help make Dimbulah a time to shine.
