The Wunggurr Ranger team found ourselves with an unexpected free-day after a long and busy dry season carrying out early-season burning, biodiversity surveys, w**d control, cultural engagement and general land management. Thus we thought a spot of fishing was well deserved.

Quanice managed to score a nice barra! 🐟

Unfortunately, while out enjoying the country, we also noticed that some of the popular fishing and camping spots had a lot if rubbish. So, not wanting to miss an opportunity to look after Country, the boys got stuck in and collected several full garbage bags worth.

We all know how easy it is to get caught up in the fun when we're out bush, but let's not forget why we love being out there in the first place.

Let's Keep Country Beautiful and take your rubbish home with you. 🌿

Mt Hart, Season Opening Cultural Induction took place on 14th May.
It was well attended and great occassion for Mt Hart staff and Wilinggin's Traditional Owners to spend time together and kick the season off to a welcoming start.

Wilinggin’s Women’s Bush Medijin Camp taught by the Wonderful Bunaba Women of Waibirri Medijin Arts -Fitzroy, and accompanied by a handful of students and fabulous teacher from the Yiramalay School. Thanks to AWC for allowing us to host this special event at Charnley River–Artesian Range Wildlife Sanctuary, DBCA support staff and the RFDS.

What do Wilinggin rangers do when they go monitoring on country?
Next Wednesday 10th of September, Wilinggin and AWC will attend Mount Barnett to present types of monitoring that rangers undertake at freshwater places.
We’ll run through examples monitoring turtles and setting up cameras, as well as provide some lunch and morning tea.
