Lovely to host the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker and husband Professor Don Chalmers in Derby today.
The weather really turned it on for their visit. 🌞
The pair have enjoyed this special place a few times over her tenure as Governor and today was no different, showing a great interest in Derby’s operations, growth and undoubted success for the state.

The visit comes just a few days before Derby hosts the Professional Trail Builders Association’s global conference, people are rolling in from all around the world as we speak before it kicks off next Tuesday!

At the Visit Northern Tasmania Champions of Tourism Awards last week they were both named winners in their respective categories.

Spring cleaning? Nah
We’re spring raking. 🌿

Join us on October 18 from 10am for a few hours of trail love on Hazy Days, powered by good vibes, community and the promise of a cold drink at the end.
Trail-care will be followed by a social ride and FREE panel event at the pump track with some mtb greats!

🧹 We’ll supply the rakes and the tunes
🍻 You bring your mates and muscles
🚴‍♂️ After the clean-up? will open their outdoor bar for a cold drink and the will run a social ride from the trailhead at 2pm.

From 4pm will host a free panel event at the pump track featuring stories from KJ Jennings, Henry Van Asch, John Thompson and Evan Bloomfield.

A sausage sizzle will be running via gold coin donation and an epic fundraiser to win some amazing prizes from our friends in NZ including: 5 nights’ accommodation, 2 x Heli Bike NZ trips, 2 x Nevis Bungy Jumps, 2 x Nevis Catapults and more!

We promise you’ll leave with a stronger connection to Derby and contributed to our mission of trail sustainability.

Was great to host Deputy Leader of the opposition Janie Finlay MP - Champion for Tasmania in Derby today, welcoming spring alongside her visit too! 🌿
Some excellent discussions around continued growth, how strong our industry is and what we give back to the state interms of jobs, visitation and spend.
These conversations are key in understanding the pathway forward and how to innovate alongside investment. It’s an exciting time for Blue Derby!
