District 8 Headquarters Brigade District 8 Headquarters Brigade members provide support and resources to CFA District 8 and the ICC.

The District 8 Headquarters Brigade (D8HQB) has the responsibility of supporting the District 8 Resources Unit (for home and away deployments). As an extension to this important role, the D8HQB members provide personnel in support of the new Incident Control Centre, Regional Control Centre and District Control Centre located in the Emergency Management Complex in Dandenong South.

Not all heroes wear yellow turnout gear - some of them work behind the scenes at Incident Control Centres, making sure that those on the fireground have everything they need. The ICC covers Planning, Logistics, Public Information and Operations, to name a few.

Doing it old school!
A big thankyou to Berwick Fire Brigade CFA for taking our members through burnover drills this weekend. Many of our non-operational members don't get to play with fire trucks very often and due to Berwick's tanker being in for repair, we were treated to working off the single cab tanker with ROPS on the back deck. A great learning experience for important safety drills when attending fires.
