On Christmas Eve, Greg Long, President of the Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary, delivered gifts to patients who would be spending Christmas in hospital.

Greg brought warmth, kindness, and a touch of festive joy to those unable to be home for the holidays. His visit was a reminder that the Crookwell community always looks after its own, especially at this time of year.

Exciting news… we have been nominated for Upper Lachlan Shire Council Australia Day Awards 2026 Event of the Year.

On Sunday 4th May 2025, the Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary hosted a community fundraiser that exemplified the spirit of unity, generosity, and local pride. Held at the Crookwell Memorial Hall, the event drew over 100 enthusiastic attendees—an extraordinary turnout for a small town with a big heart.
The highlight of the afternoon was a captivating performance by the Australian Army Band, Kapooka, whose talented musicians and vocalist created an atmosphere of joy, camaraderie, and celebration. Their presence elevated the event into something truly memorable, blending entertainment with purpose.
This fundraiser was more than just a concert—it was a testament to Crookwell’s unwavering community spirit. Local businesses and residents rallied behind the Auxiliary, contributing time, resources, and heartfelt support to ensure its success. Funds raised directly supported patient care initiatives at Crookwell District Hospital, reinforcing the Auxiliary’s mission to enhance wellbeing through compassion and action.
The event:
• United diverse members of the community in a shared cause
• Raised vital funds for the purchase of new Televisions incorporating the Nurse Call System
• Showcased Crookwell’s capacity to host meaningful, inclusive events
This unforgettable afternoon has been Nominated as Event of the Year—a shining example of what happens when community, creativity, and care come together.

The Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary, extends our sincere thanks to the Upper Lachlan Foundation Grant Committee and the Crookwell Services Club for approving our recent grant applications. This generous support will enable us to complete the greening of the Serenity Garden, located adjacent to the Palliative Care area at Crookwell District Hospital, with work to commence shortly by JRH Landscapes.

The grants will help transform this outdoor retreat into a lush, tranquil environment through strategic planting and the installation of a gentle water feature. While seating and heating are already in place, the garden remains bare and underutilised. Without greenery and ambient water sounds, it lacks the calming atmosphere we envision.

By softening the landscape with native plants and introducing the soothing presence of water, we aim to create a healing sanctuary—one that offers comfort, serenity, and space for reflection to patients and their families during life’s most challenging moments.

Thanks to the Upper Lachlan Foundation’s and the Crookwell Services Club’s support, Crookwell Hospital will soon offer a truly transformative outdoor refuge for those facing life’s final chapter.
