Great to welcome three ladies to our first evening meeting. Next event will be a Saturday morning tea/brunch so that these ladies can participate in our social life.

We hope to continue alternating our meetings and activities between day time and evening/weekends to accommodate as many people as possible.

Also, the latest edition of the journal "The Country Woman" is now out. If you are not a member or haven't received your copy yet, it can be downloaded from the CWA of NSW website. There is an extensive report on State Conference as well as the cooking and craft schedules for next year's competition.

On Friday 29th May two of our members had a very enjoyable trip to West Wyalong and attended the Bellarwi CWA Branch’s 80th Birthday celebration. As the members of Bellarwi Branch are notable for their baking skills and take home a lot of the trophies at Group competitions, the afternoon tea was very enjoyable with a range of sandwiches, cake, slice, biscuits and tarts.

We were also treated to a talk about the disastrous restrictions on land use recently introduced in the area which effectively make it illegal for many farmers to use their land for agriculture and therefore earn a living, as they and their ancestors have been doing for the past 150 or more years.

Photos and memorabilia were displayed, covering the 80-year history of the branch.

ATTENTION WORKING LADIES

Our June meeting will commence at 5:30pm.

If we have enough attendees, we will consider alternating evening meetings with day-time meetings.

Our May meeting, held yesterday reported on the presentation of gifts to three new mothers in the Cootamundra Hospital for Mothers’ Day. The Secretary also reported on her attendance at CWA of NSW State Conference in Forster recently and another morning tea outing was arranged.

The photograph shows goods already donated for next year's Mothers' Day baby bags.

This morning, seven of our members met for morning tea at the lovely Main Café in Adina Court, three of the “originals”, three of the “new recruits” and Jill Large, a long-serving member who has transferred from Young Branch. Much discussion was had about all sorts of topics and it was finally agreed that next month we will meet again and bring along knitting looms and wool to make beanies for donation to State Hospital Support Committee while we enjoy our coffee.
