Our Annual Sydney Golf Day was on Thursday, December 4, at the sublime historic (126 years old!) Concord Golf Club.
Though numbers were down – due to hours of traffic chaos in the M4 Tunnel – enthusiasm was high.
TCF co-founder Greg Chappell flew in from Adelaide specially for the day. His golf swing is a thing of beauty, as was his on-drive. India’s Consul-General, H.E. Dr S. Janakiraman ( a 9 marker!) was there as well. Venues NSW Chair David Gallop, a keen golfer, played, as did former Sydney Swans premiership star Nick Davis, who is almost a scratch marker.
TCF Chairman Darshak Mehta salvaged his dismal round of golf on the day by fluking a hole in one – odds of 12500 to 1 – on the 16th and has been ecstatic ever since.
Foursomes tried valiantly to win the BMW on offer for a hole-in-one on the 6th, but at the end of the day, the handsome Beemer returned to Canterbury BMW.
Dinner following the golf was a lively affair. Dr Terri Said, CEO of WAYS – one of our partner charities, explained movingly the dimensions of Australia’s youth homelessness issue. She gave inspiring examples of young people whose lives WAYS has helped transform, with a little financial help from us.
TCF Director Daniel Odman was MC and may have to consider giving up his day job, so good was his interview with Greg Chappell and engagement with the audience.
Our thanks to sponsors Equity Trustees, Venues NSW, Canterbury BMW, Neo Health, State Bank of India, iSoft, and Callaway Golf for their generosity in supporting the cause of ending youth homelessness.

🚨 HOLE IN ONE ALERT! ⛳️🚘

Is that your BMW at TCF’s Golf Day?

We have never had a hole in one at a Chappell Foundation Golf Day. This year that could change, because our friends at Canterbury BMW have put a superb BMW on the line as the hole in one prize*.

Join us at Concord Golf Club on Thursday 4 December for a full day of golf, good company, post play drinks and dinner, all in support of young Australians facing or at high risk of homelessness.

Every dollar you contribute, net of event expenses, supports our frontline partners who give young people a safe place to stay, meals, case workers, wraparound support and the chance to rebuild their lives. Our founders Greg Chappell and will be on course and ready to share how your support changes young lives.

One swing could win you a new BMW. Every swing makes a difference for young people.

The Chappell Foundation raises vital funds to help end youth homelessness in Australia. Every night, more than 45,000 young Australians have no safe place to sleep, many escaping violence, neglect or poverty. We fund frontline charities that provide shelter, meals, counselling, education and pathways to independence.

On this third day of Homelessness Week, The Chappell Foundation is making a call to action to combat youth homelessness.

You deserve to know your donation makes a difference. At The Chappell Foundation, we guarantee it.

An incredible 99.4% of your donation goes directly to our charity partners who provide a homeless young person with everything from a safe bed and a hot meal to mentorship, job training, and mental health support. Why does a young person become homeless?

"Homelessness isn't always what you think." On this second day of Homelessness Week, we want to highlight the cause and the hidden aspects of homelessness.

One of the primary reasons and the catalyst for young people to leave home is domestic and family violence (Source: Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW)). They are disconnected from school, support networks, and a sense of stability.

It’s not a choice. It’s a crisis that thrusts them into a life of instability, uncertainty and hardship.

For most young people, homelessness isn't sleeping rough in a park. There are many ways, but often hidden, such as:

1. ‘couch surfing’ with no certainty of where to go next week
2. staying in an overcrowded, unsafe home
3. moving between temporary shelters

The Chappell Foundation, through its charity partners, provides a safe haven from this trauma experienced by young people and gives them hope for a better future.

Help us provide a safe place for a young person and combat homelessness. Donate at https://thechappellfoundation.com/donate

Today marks the start of Homelessness Week, and the reality is devastating.

This year, it takes on an even greater urgency. Many parts of Australia are experiencing an unusually severe cold snap, with bitter conditions not typically felt so deeply. Imagine having no roof to go home to, imagine a child or young person facing this relentless cold without food and shelter - a safe, warm place to sleep.

For the over 45,000 young Australians without a safe place to go home, this cold snap isn't just uncomfortable – it's dangerous. They are particularly vulnerable right now.

At The Chappell Foundation, our mission to support and combat youth homelessness is even more critical during this time. Please, as the cold bites, think of those with nowhere to escape it. We are raising vital funds, and thanks to our volunteer-run model, an incredible 99.4% of your donation goes directly to our charity partners who provide warmth, safety, and hope during these exceptionally harsh times.

Help us . Your gift is a key to safety, stability, and opportunity. Week starts today, and this is the reality in our backyard.

Join us and start the week by donating and giving hope to these youth experiencing homelessness.

Almost 600 people gathered on a wet Wednesday night at the SCG to raise money for the homeless.
Dennis Lillee told tales.
His – and our - captain Greg Chappell gave his version.
Hearts were open.
There was a lot of love in the room.
And a lot of money raised for people who need it the most.

You can download the images from the evening on our website thechappellfoundation.com

Winter is coming and your help is needed: donate here (tax deductible) and know that 99.6 cents in every dollar is distributed to those who need it.
