Had a great first meeting with Lake Tyers and Framlingham Trust this week in our Collingwood office

This week Gellung Warl Co-chairs, and Members for the South East and South West met with representatives from Framlingham Aboriginal Trust & Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust.

At this meeting we discussed how Gellung Warl is answerable and accountable to Community and our plans for larbargirrar gnuurtak tulkuuk, which means ‘community reckon, count truth’ in Djab Wurrung.

We look forward to working together with both Trusts to strengthen our collective vision for Treaty, and Gellung Warl, so we can deliver better outcomes for future generations.

We know that there are people who want to take Treaty away. That’s why now more than ever, it’s up to everyone to show up and support.

Come along to the Defend Treaty Town Hall this Saturday 22 August at Hawthorn Arts Centre from 2PM.

Hear from community leaders on why Treaty matters and how we can protect it, including our Co-chairs Meriki Onus and Djaran Murray-Jackson.

There will be poster and signage to display your support in your office, at your school or in your neighbourhood, and plenty of good yarns all around. Thank you to the mob at Together For Treaty for creating an opportunity for us to come together and talk all things Treaty for Victoria.

Keep an eye on the latest Together For Treaty campaigns to see how you can get involved!

Enough is enough. We are deeply concerned about the alleged attack on two children in Mildura.

Our strength and support is with the families and communities in the North West affected at this time.

If you're mob living in Victoria, it's important to take care of each other and reach out for support if you're struggling.

You can access culturally safe crisis lines for mob needing support with their mental health, available 24/7 and free of charge:

Congratulations to First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria who have just won the annual Voltaire award for their work on Statewide Treaty last year.

The President of Liberty Victoria, Gemma Cafarella, stated that “Treaty creates a pathway for First Peoples’ ways of knowing, being and doing to shape outcomes for First Peoples and the entire community, to the benefit of us all."

We look forward to continuing the work of treaty alongside Gellung Warl and supporting Traditional Owners in their treaty journeys.

For Dhauwurd Wurrung Elderly & Community Health Services, we went to their flagraising.

For Eastern Maar, we attended their community event and walk

We also participated in the opening of Colac's new gathering place.

Our members also travelled up to Melbourne to be part of some statewide events like the VACSAL 3v3 competition, the State Reception dinner, and the Statewide Ball.
