Calling all university students – Treaty is here, and you’re invited to be part of the movement!

Last year the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria made history by signing Australia’s first Treaty with the Victorian Government. Now, the Assembly is part of Gellung Warl, a democratically elected body of Traditional Owners and the first body of its kind in Australia.

Join our webinar for an opportunity to hear directly from Tarni Morris and Levi Power – Gellung Warl’s Youth Voice representatives who have been elected to represent their communities.

Tune in to learn about Treaty, Gellung Warl and the important role of young people in the Treaty Era.

This event is open to First Peoples and allies.

This is a free webinar but registrations are essential, reserve a spot via the link below:

Today we’re celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day!

This year’s theme is Country Is Our Teacher. Literacy is a part of self-determination for our people, and that includes speaking our indigenous languages.

When First Peoples have access to learn and speak our languages, we cultivate deeper relationships between us and the land, carry culture forward and maintain links to our Ancestors. Language can remind us of who we are are where we come from.

That’s why we’ve written our languages from across the state into the Statewide Treaty Act.
