Two incredible days that best symbolise the foundations of what Serenity Care Connection is all about!

The UNโ€™s ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ & the Raise Foundations ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง!

World Caring Day, 7th June is a day dedicated to acknowledging the caregivers from all walks of life;
From the medical field to the volunteers such as our awesome SCC team to those helping improve the quality of life for their own family and friends at home!
It's a day to honour and treasure the tireless and selfless devotion and dedication of all these amazing souls!

National Day of Connection, 17th June, is a day to bring light to the growing cases of loneliness in today's day and age.
Despite the advent of technology and tools of advancement bringing most things online and connecting in ways we cannot imagine;
1 in 3 Aussies suffer from constant loneliness and most are under the age of 16!

We are often told that one of the highlights of our food distributions is that people get to meet 70-400 others, and many just want to talk to someone!

Please join us on 17th June and break bread or have a cuppa with someone to make their day and maybe even a new friendship along the way!

Very proud and honoured to partner with Raise Foundation and the United Nations in helping our community where we can!

Our very first day as a charity was on ๐“๐€๐…๐‘๐ƒ 2025 and conservatively speaking - we have been blessed with approximately 14,000 DOZEN BOXES since then!!!

Today until Wednesday 10th June 2026, we will be distributing over 5% of that in the space of just 5 days (720 Dozen ๐Ÿฉ boxes)

๐…๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž is rarely shared on social media, yet some of the most successful and truly beneficial projects are borne out of failureโ€ผ๏ธ

This time last year, Mirna and I โ€˜almostโ€™ had an app developed while working on a Sustainability project with Blacktown City Council, as well as local businesses such as Costco, Woolworths, and smaller restaurants and retailers.

๐๐ฎ๐ข๐œ๐ค ๐“๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ ๐๐ซ๐จ - that name is probably why it was doomed to fail haha (a play on Quid Pro Quo).

While the project never really came to fruition, it was a stepping stone that provided invaluable insights that led to this Charity starting!

We saw the need to not only bridge the gap between government resources and businesses but also to assist businesses in reducing waste while also providing nutrition and improving the health of local communities!

We are far from having a solid and stable system like the bigger charities, but we are also able to adapt and pivot much more easily while being eager to keep learning!

Honoured and privileged to be one of the 3,500 guests and humbled to be one of the only 12 charities in Oz attending the largest Australian Sustainability Event and Expo!

Costco Wholesale Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ would definitely be the matriarch of our family, ensuring all members are looked after and cared for with their generous daily blessings!

Not forgetting our other important partners of our family too;

Woolworths you have been phenomenal not just with the food diversion and animal food programs but also in the ongoing long-term support in particular with employing some of our V.E.S.P.A members - thank you.

All in all, since Mother's Day we have been incredibly humbled to have our pool of 40 selfless volunteers go back and forth with our 6 refrigerated trucks loading over 22 tonnes of food and items!

Yesterday was also our monthly clean-up Grange Ave and Grange Reserve day (15th of every month), and a massive shout out to Blacktown Council and Riverstone Police Area Command for their assistance after 15th April in helping keep it clean from litter and syringes!

On 3rd March 2026, before our self-appointed deadline of 30th March 2026 (International Zero Waste Day), we reached our major goal of becoming net zero!

Today, we took the next step and introduced a new initiative;

We have created the perfect symbiotic partnerships and connections!

From composting produce that is not fit for human consumption to diverting other organic items to animal feed, then getting farm-fresh eggs for our V.E.S.P.A program to have the younger generation volunteer and help every step of the way.

We are humbly proud not only to be one of the very few charities supporting sustainable initiatives, but also to come full circle and help those we support gain skills to help others as the scope and scalability of the program grows!

This new program together with our Food Wastage and FOGO compliance partnerships will help get other charities and community groups connected to food sources from Supermarkets to Restaurants looking at sustainable options and choices!

Ironically, we have been told we need to increase our online presence by editors who printed our story and we agree - we need to more actively engage the community we proudly and humbly serve!

From local council initiatives around waste reduction and compost programs, to food diversion projects that are assisting us with working on to the interstate rollout of school food programs in Melbourne and Adelaide;
we need to be more consistent with our announcements.

Not so much sharing more online for the sake of simply posting, but rather informing and connecting the community to outreach programs and support networks to benefit the reader and/or their family and friends.

Plastic recycling โ™ป๏ธ and in particular the excess food packaging, can be used for a range of arts and crafts that the community can benefit from - especially kids!
