Meet Darryn, our cheerful wiz of a bicycle repairer.

He can repair a puncture, replace a tyre, do a simple service, and diagnose what's wrong with your bike.

You will need to bring the replacement parts yourself although you might be lucky with new inner tubes as he has a bit of a stock.

Someone brought in a pretty new bike that was hard to ride and had never seemed right since they bought it. Darryn soon realised that the forks had been put on the wrong way round and it was soon sorted.

Our next repair cafe will be on Sunday 26/7/26 at Span Community House in Thornbury. Check back in about 2 weeks before that to see if he will be in attendance.

Check out Dalal at Preston Market for leather repairs.

I think these are market hours - haven't checked if she's there on Sundays for instance.

Meet our talented jewellery fixer Jane Belfrage - a valued member of the DRC team since we first opened doors in 2018. Jane was part of the working group that founded Darebin Repair Cafe.

While Jane works outside the traditional jewellery trade and is not a qualified jeweller, her creative skills and dedication mean she can work wonders with your treasured pieces.

She expertly restrings beads on broken necklaces and bracelets, and can even reimagine them into a fresh new arrangement - giving your jewellery a second life.

Jane is also skilled at replacing earring findings such as posts and hooks, resetting stones in stud earrings, and hand sewing where needed.

Jane specialises in bead and finding repairs; for soldering or very fine chain link repairs we'd recommend seeking a specialist jeweller.

She'll be at our next repair cafe on 22/3/26 at Reservoir Senior Citizens Centre. You'll be able to book on the booking link in the event pinned to the Featured posts at top of the page about a week out from the day.

Jane is pictured on the right at one of our repair cafes.
