A team of Australian scientists have invented a method to decipher a layer of information that garnishes genes, called methyl groups, which may explain the unknown cause of many cancers.

Today marks 10 years since Cath White (aged 31) lost her battle with breast cancer – the very reason the Pink Ribbon Cup was created.

Regrettably, we also advise today that we have been unable to secure our regular April date at Caulfield Racecourse and therefore the event will not be held in 2015. At this point in time, the future of the event is very unclear so we will take this opportunity to thank you all for your amazing support over the past 10 years. Together, we’ve raised almost $450,000 which has been donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and used to invest in select research programs. We’ll also call out the wonderful partnership we have had with 7-Eleven Australia who have played an instrumental role in delivering the financial success we have achieved. Thank you.

We are delighted to announce that the total donation to NBCF from the 2014 7-Eleven Pink Ribbon Cup is $42,028.40. Thanks to all involved - it was a great 10th year.
