WORLD POLIO DAY | 24 OCTOBER**

For more than 40 years, Rotary has been working towards one incredible goal:

# # # **A world without polio.**

Rotary and its partners have helped immunise hundreds of millions of children around the world, bringing us closer than ever to ending this devastating disease.

But until polio is eradicated everywhere, no child is completely safe.

On **World Polio Day**, we remember the incredible progress that has been made — and recognise the work that still needs to be done.

**Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and polio-free.**

This World Polio Day, help us spread the message:

**END POLIO NOW.**

Tonight’s meeting at the Lyrebird Community Centre, Jo Gill spoke to us about Mental health. Jo has been a nurse for 50 years, has worked in operating theatre and as a midwife. Now at Peninsula Health with the Mental Health section, dealing with Peri-Natal health for women who are having difficulties during pregnancy, Jo started this group, which now has four Clinicians. Peninsula Health was one of the first hospitals to screen women on admission to the Ante Natal area looking at their family history, pregnancy history etc. There are 15% of women affected by post natal anxiety and depression.
A very passionate presentation about a very worthwhile and important support program at Peninsula Health.

Rotarians, health workers, governments and global partners have spent decades protecting children from polio.

The result?

But the final steps matter.

**We cannot stop until polio is gone everywhere.**
