Capella Community Op Shop Alert! 😂
If you’ve ever wondered how raffle ticket sales suddenly take off… here’s the answer!

Meet Barb – our secret weapon. Armed with a bucket, a smile, and powers of persuasion that should probably be licensed. 😆
This afternoon at the Capella Hotel, Barb managed to recruit another unsuspecting volunteer into the raffle ticket-selling squad. We’re not sure if he said yes voluntarily or if he simply couldn’t escape! 🤣

If you see Barb coming your way with a bucket, don’t make eye contact… you’ll be selling tickets before you know it! 🎟️😂

Always such an amazing group—those ladies at the Capella Community Op Shop are quick to jump in and help whenever the community needs it 💛👏

A special thanks go out to...

Geoffrey Braun, owner of Capella Agencies, who offered a cash donation

All the ladies from the Capella Community OP Shop, including Pam, Cilla, Shantel, Kim, Barb (and several others jumped in to help), who greeted festival-goers at the gate, checked their tickets, and/or collected their money if paying by cash, did a fantastic job.

Keith and Julie Taylor, who, along with Graham and helpers, took charge of the ''Buggy’’ and supervised all the parking, making sure everyone was parked properly and happy, then also they became ''Mr Fix it’’ checking on faulty power points to making sure the amenities were functioning.

The Capella State High School, who jumped in and helped immensely with the festival setup.

Without the endless support from Kerry and brother Ian Sleigh (the Packer brothers), the festival would never be the amazing event that it was. They were the ''Go To '' team, and no matter what was needed, they had it covered.

A huge thanks to EVERYONE who helped make the festival this year so successful

Now that we’ve had a moment to recover from Smoko in the Paddock, we just want to say… wow. 💛
Words cannot express the support — over 100 people came through the gate, and the sense of community was incredible.
The cent sale was amazing, and we are so grateful to all of our generous sponsors. Thank you to everyone who donated food — it was absolutely wonderful.
A huge shoutout to our MC for the day, did an outstanding job hosting our very first Smoko in the Paddock 👏
It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces coming together in support of the Capella Community Op Shop.
Together, we raised over $3,000 for the Cancer Council Rockhampton — because all colours matter 💙💛💜
Thank you again to everyone who supported, donated, and showed up. We couldn’t have done it without you.

No job is too big or too small when you have amazing volunteers behind you.

These beautiful appreciation bunches were presented to our wonderful volunteers at Smoko in the Paddock as a small token of thanks for the countless hours they give, not only on the day but also for the endless behind-the-scenes work that keeps the Capella Community Op Shop running.

A special thank you to Mitre Monkana and Eliza Siller for helping us recognise the incredible people who give so much of their time, energy and heart to our community. ❤️Eliza as always stunning

Events like Smoko in the Paddock don’t just happen by themselves. From planning and organising to setting up, cleaning up and everything in between, our volunteers are the backbone of what we do.
