Hi! I’m Bert and I’m looking for my true love, bonus points if your name is Ernie ❤️

I’m still a baby really, only 26 months old and I’m a big fan of kids and laying on the lounge and snoozing the day and night away. I don’t mind going outside to toilet but other than that, I’m an inside dog!

My other love in life is food, the favorite time of the day is breakfast and dinner. I will do anything for a treat and will let you know when I deserve a treat for being a very, very good boy. My people say that my love of food will make me easy to train, I say if there’s food, count me in!

I’m a big boy, 34kg hunk of cuddles and affection. Although I’m a large greyhound I’m not imposing, my people say I’m an introvert and can be shy and bashful when I first meet people. I do come out of my shell once we get to know each other and my people say my sweet and calm personality is worth the wait.

I’ve been learning pet life tips and tricks and am way better suited to my pet career than I was to my short racing career. Maybe if they had an indoor race track with treats and a lounge at the finish line I might have been motivated to run faster but as they didn’t, I didn’t try very hard. My people says that okay and they are loving seeing me thrive in learning pet life.

Greyhounds deserve the very best introductions to pet life and the hounds need your help to make this possible.

Foster Carers bring a greyhound into their home and teach them how to live in a house and have house manners, how to spend time alone when the humans are at work or school, build experience and confidence in walking in the suburbs and making friends with other dog breeds.

As a Greyhound Connections Foster Carer you will be reimbursed for food and and resources you might purchase for your foster hound, supported by the Adoptions team 24/7 and engaged in the search for your hounds forever family.

We urgently need 3 foster families in the next week to help some very special greyhounds located in either the ACT or NSW. The hounds have not been assessed with young children or small animals at this stage.

Meet Daisy
Daisy is a gorgeous light fawn girl with a dark nose, now 3 years and 5 months old and sitting at a lean 29–30kg. She’s an affectionate, happy hound with a proud little strut and a whole lot of personality.

Personality & Lifestyle
Daisy is wonderfully playful and absolutely loves her zoomies. She’ll thrive in a home with a garden or yard where she can stretch her legs and show off her silly bursts of energy. Once she’s done, she’s just as happy to laze around and enjoy the quieter moments.

She’s a big fan of toys, enjoys mealtimes with other dogs, and has a lovely balance of fun and calm.

Other Animals & People
Daisy enjoys the company of humans and is great with big and small dogs. She’s a social girl who loves being part of the action and spending time with her people.

Turbo is a soft, playful sweetheart who enjoys the company of humans and dogs alike — large and small. He’s social, friendly, and happiest when he has someone to hang out with.

Personality & Home Life,
Turbo is an affectionate, easy‑going hound who loves comfort, companionship, and a relaxed home routine. He’s playful without being boisterous and has a lovely, gentle way about him.

Meet Shazza
The little dog with the big personality.

Shazza is a gorgeous white and brindle girl, 2½ years old (turning 3 in December) and currently around 25kg. She may be small in size, but she makes up for it with charm, confidence, and a whole lot of love.

Personality & Temperament
Shazza is an active, playful, adventure ready hound who loves getting out and about. She’s great with other dogs, animals, and children, making her a lovely fit for a family or a home with plenty of company.

She can get a little excited when meeting new friends for the first time — she’s just enthusiastic — but she settles quickly and shows her sweet, gentle nature.

When the fun is done, she’s a total cuddlebug. Shazza adores snuggling up, leaning in for affection, and soaking up belly rubs, ear scratches, and all the human attention she can get.

Shazza would thrive in a home that offers:
