Had the honour to Support Roden in Townsville yesterday when he was presented his first clasp to his DLSM for 21 Years. Nigel has been a Sallyman on multiple deployments and postings over the last 21 years. For the past 13 years he has served the Laverack Barracks in this Capacity.

Nigel as you prepare to hand over the batton and reflect on your time in Townsville and as you prepare to face your new posting in Canberra at Duntroon.

Thankyou for your Service

Heading into Easter, things slow down.

For some, that’s a good thing.
For others… it’s when things catch up.

And that’s usually when support matters most.

Not in the big moments.
In the quiet ones.

That’s why we’re fighting to keep the Sallyman in the field.
Because some support doesn’t stand down.

And no mate left behind
has to mean something after service too.

Before ANZAC Day, a veteran will walk 300 kilometres from Holsworthy to Canberra.

In full WW1 kit.
Not for recognition.
Not for attention.

But to represent something many veterans still carry.
Quietly.
This isn’t just a walk.
It’s a reminder.

And it’s something people can be part of.
We’ll be sharing more as it unfolds.

Something is about to happen… and most people won’t see it.
300 kilometres. One unknown veteran.
Carrying more than a pack.
