Paalam - The Bridge To Humanity

Paalam - The Bridge To Humanity We also plan to conduct medical camps in rural areas on cancer screening and psychological issues including education against sexual abuse.

We dedicate ourselves to providing culturally sensitive and comprehensive palliative care in Sri Lanka and for multicultural communities in Australia, through training, support, and vital community outreach. Together with a few doctors in Australia, we have formed a non-profit organization called “PAALAM – The Bridge to Humanity (PBH) to address the significant gaps in Palliative Care services and

support in Sri Lanka and among immigrant and multicultural populations in Australia. Our mission is to ensure that everyone with a terminal illness has access to comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and compassionate palliative care, regardless of their location, background, or beliefs. Our main aim is to improve the palliative care services in Sri Lanka by providing medical training and teaching to the health and allied health professionals in palliative care along with along with administrative and financial support and psychological counselling. We collaborate with other Australia and Sri Lanka based non-profit organisations.

Saptaswara was a spectacular fusion of fashion, music and dance, held at the Pioneer Theatre in Sydney. It was an evening that celebrated culture while raising vital funds for communities across Sri Lanka.

Put together by Tari By Gayatri, the event supported the Palliative Care Hospital Ward at Tellippalai Cancer Hospital in Sri Lanka, a joint venture by Paalam - The Bridge To Humanity and Vanni Hope, as well as our other initiatives across the island.

Thank you to all the volunteers, including models, musicians, makeup artists, saree drapers and everyone who contributed their time and talent. Thank you to everyone who attended this sold-out fundraiser and made it an evening to remember.

Thanks to the generous sponsors, both individuals and businesses, 100% of ticket costs will go directly towards the project.

A special thank you to Tari by Gayatri for designing all sarees and kurtas and for organising yet another magnificent event. Our gratitude also extends to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this night possible.

Thank you to Mith Captures for putting this highlights video together.

We are deeply moved and incredibly grateful to Mr. Kandasamy Dhayanathan’s family for their profound kindness. In lieu of flowers at his funeral, they have thoughtfully requested donations to Paalam – Bridge to Humanity.

These invaluable contributions will go directly towards the building of a new palliative care ward at the Tellipalai cancer hospital in Jaffna. This new ward will provide essential care, helping to ease pain and suffering for those in the northern district of Sri Lanka.

Your compassion creates a lasting legacy of care, dignity, and comfort for many. Our hearts are with the Dhayanathan family during this time. ❤️
