APAN - Australia Palestine Advocacy Network

APAN - Australia Palestine Advocacy Network The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) is a national coalition of civil society organisation

The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) was formed in May 2011 to provide a national voice for the many thousands of Australians who are concerned about continuing human rights abuses suffered by Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and the continuing effects of dispossession and displacement suffered by Palestinian refugees in various locations in the Middle East. APAN is an I

ncorporated Association formed in May 2011 by an alliance of religious leaders, unions, academics, lawyers, former politicians, Jewish and Palestinian groups, diplomats and public servants and others. APAN believes that balance needs to be brought to the public debate in Australia about the issues relating to Israeli's apartheid regime and ongoing military Occupation of Palestine. APAN seeks a more balanced and principled approach from the Australian government in its policies towards the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and a more active role for Australia in encouraging all interested parties to bring about a just and lasting negotiated settlement. APANโ€™s funding and membership are entirely based in Australia. APAN offers a voice for all Australians of goodwill who wish to express their opposition to the continuation of an Occupation that should have been settled decades ago. APAN's page provides an opportunity for sharing of information that support's APAN's objectives. We reserve the right to delete any comments that do not support our objectives.

Young people are at the forefront of Palestine advocacy, yet many continue to experience the growing reality of Anti-Palestinian Racism (APR) across schools, universities, workplaces, online spaces, and public life.

Join us for a practical and creative workshop exploring how APR operates, its impacts on our communities, and how to recognise, document, and report incidents.

The workshop will also be led by local Lebanese artist Safa El Samad (Soof Flash) for a hands-on embroidery workshop where participants can customise their own clothing using Palestinian-inspired embroidery.

Younger generations are increasingly engaging with justice, human rights, and Palestine, prioritising education, mobilisation, and collective action more important than ever. This workshop is an opportunity to deepen our understanding, build collective skills and strengthen capacity to respond to APR.

The AFP has launched an investigation into Israelโ€™s assault and mistreatment of Australian participants in the Global Sumud Flotilla following their illegal interception.

This is a welcome first step.
But investigations are not accountability.

For too long, Australia has responded to allegations of violations of international law with statements of concern and little meaningful action.

The evidence is now with the Government.
The question is whether it is prepared to act on it.

An investigation is a first step.
Accountability must follow.

There are moments when it feels impossible to comprehend the scale of what Palestinians are enduring. But giving in to despair is exactly what those in power are counting on." โ€” Nasser Mashni, APAN President

The Australian Government wants credit for funding peace.

But there can be no peace while Palestinians are being bombed with weapons supplied through global military supply chains that include Australian-made components.

It's time for accountability.
End military complicity.
Sanction those responsible.
Stop treating Palestinian lives as expendable.
Peace requires justice.
Accountability requires action.

In Gaza, even creating art has become an act of resistance.

After returning to find their workshop destroyed, the women of Tawlet Fan rebuilt it thread by thread, preserving Palestinian culture amid genocide, displacement, and devastation.

Australia says Israeli settlements are illegal.

So why isn't it investigating whether Australian charities, tax concessions and financial networks are helping fund them?

As Israel continues its genocide in Gaza and expands illegal settlements in the West Bank, APAN and other civil society organisations are calling for answers.

You can't sanction the violence while ignoring the money behind it.
