Today, across the country, we came together to say loud and clear: Youth Homelessness Matters.

To every person who shared, spoke up, showed up, or simply took a moment to listen - Yfoundations extends our heartfelt thanks.

In 2023–24, over 43,000 children and young people under 25 sought help from homelessness services alone. Nearly half faced mental ill-health, and over a third experienced domestic and family violence.

It doesn’t end here. Youth Homelessness Matters Every Day. And we are still firm in our commitment to making youth homelessness a national priority.

We had a great time at Canberra College's Wellbeing Expo!

Many students were interested in our service, and they tried our "Wheel of Fortune," handmade with love by our Social Work student!

Thanks to the school for organising this opportunity to engage with the community.

What are people saying about the program?
- "Spaces like these are pretty rare, it was amazing to have a program full of q***r and neurodivergent people." - Participant
- "I like the community, space and experiences I get from this. I get to do a lot of things I love doing and in a safe and fun space, I don't get these opportunities elsewhere." - Participant
- "This is a cultural and creative necessity for our community it promotes respect, inclusiveness and embraces diversity and tell young people they are supported and welcome in the arts/film (and beyond)" - Parent
- "I've watched my teenager struggle with mental health and low confidence. LGBTQI+ youth peer groups and activities in the arts have been catalyst and instrumental in helping my teenage child find joy, meaning, confidence, and healthy mental health back into their life, more than therapy or medication. It's programs like this that are making real positive impacts."
