Belconnen SEE Change West Belco rolls on Monday 8 September from 7am at Kippax bus interchange. The route is broken up into sections, so join any that work for you. Eg. Use Benjamin Way exit for Housing ACT or Libraries ACT. We're thrilled to announce the Australian premier of the short film Fietsgeluk, Bicycle Happiness, at our Handlebars of happiness: stories about cycling storytelling night at Smith's Alternative on Tues 26 Aug.

This film, made for Fietsersbond, the Dutch cyclists' union by Nieuw & Verbeterd (New & Improved) film company, shows everyday Dutch people describing how their lives are enriched by the humble cycle, and its many variations. A million thanks to Fietsersbond and Nieuw & Verbeterd for permission to screen your lovely little film.

Our free event, Handlebars of Happiness, features locals Lachlan (a student who loves mountain biking), Meredith (who explores Canberra on her cargo bike), Ruslan (who carries his kids, dog, and sometimes white goods on his cargo bike), and scientist and artist Sophie Baker who paints outside wherever her mountain bike takes her.

An official Cyclonats event, we're is inspired by Bike Story Night in Texas. We're upstairs at Smith's, 76 Alinga St, from 6:30pm Tuesday. https://events.humanitix.com/handlebars-of-happiness

Feel good on Monday morning and save money, by taking the July West Belco Bike Bus. It's a welcoming, fun way to get life done anywhere between Holt (Kippax shops) Belco town centre, University of Canberra, Civic, and Barton in the National Triangle. Use it for commuting or medical appointments or shopping trips such as in Belco Town Centre for Civic. It departs 7am at Kippax Bus Interchange bike cage, near the library. I catch it at Haig Park in Turner, and alight in Deakin. Join the WhatsApp group for its realtime location. Thank you Belconnen SEE Change for organising it.

We are on the search for an enthusiastic volunteer to become the new Belconnen SEE Change Convenor/s.

The role could be shared!

1. Work alongside, and support, the Verge Garden Coordinator, and support the verge garden volunteers.
2. Manage the rolling workshops for the verge gardens
3. Support the Belco Bike Bus which already has a strong crew of enthusiastic participants and natural leader/s
4. Bring together the ideas of the existing Belconnen SEE Change members to see what other sustainability projects they want to pursue.
5. Manage the social media platforms for Belconnen SEE Change.

You could offer to do one, more or all of these roles.
