Following last week's post, emails of support and encouragement were received. People grateful for what Riders Lane provides and offers. People urging the small team committed to the project and its evolution to, ‘stay the course’.
People offering to do what they could to carry the ball onwards.
An invitation was sent to those people who reached out to catch up last Sunday, discuss what was proposed in more detail and to ‘test the resolve’ and to ‘measure the depth of support and commitment’ to take the left fork.
And, so, in the warmth of the Sunday just passed, that small team driving Riders Lane, and its evolution, met with six others to finalise which fork in the road to take.

🏍️ A Long Way To Go 🏍️

After more than 20 years riding side by side, Rik and Scott are getting back on their bikes — this time to help make sure fewer families go through what theirs have.

Rik, a 25-year SA Police veteran living with PTSD, has lost six police mates to su***de. Scott, a 27-year ADF veteran, lost his wife at 47 and has lost countless friends to su***de.

From 5 September, they’re riding 9,000+ km with the Black Dog Ride Long Way to the Top National Ride — from Nuriootpa through the outback to Cairns, then home via Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne — to prove that reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Every dollar raised goes straight to Black Dog Ride’s su***de prevention and mental health programs. Get on board and help keep that lifeline open. 👇

An excellent opportunity to take advantage of the Jambaroo Mountain Road being open to LIGHT TRAFFIC ONLY?

Important information on Jamberoo Mountain Road


With Transport for NSW undertaking safety upgrades to Macquarie Pass, Kiama Municipal Council would like to remind motorists that Jamberoo Mountain Road is only to be used by light vehicles.

The Illawarra Highway will be closed between the base and top of Macquarie Pass from Sunday 2 August for the next four months between the hours of 8pm and 4am, Sunday to Thursday nights.

Heavy vehicles over 12 tonnes and 10 metres in length are not permitted to use Jamberoo Mountain Road at any time as the road is unsafe for these larger vehicles. They are advised to use a detour via the Hume Highway, Picton Road and the M1 Princes Motorway.

Kiama Council is currently completing roadworks at Jamberoo Mountain Road, which will be closed between Misty Lane and Knights Hill between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday for the next five weeks.
