Diamantina Scout Group

Diamantina Scout Group is located in Kaleen, Australian Capital Territory (ACT)

Diamantina Scout Group has the unique distinction of being only one of two groups in the ACT to have a single colour for the Group scarf - Orange. Diamantina's Scout Hall located in Kaleen has recently returned from the ashes, and is located at 271 Maribyrnong Ave, near the Caltex Service Station. Joeys (ages 6 to 7.5) Monday 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Cubs (ages 7.5 to 10.5) Thursday 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Scouts (ages 10.5 to 14.5) Tuesday 7.00pm to 9.00pm
Venturers (ages 14.5 to 17.25 ) tbc

Silver Kangaroo Award

The Silver Kangaroo Award is the highest honor for adult leaders in Scouts Australia, recognising eminent achievement, exceptional service, and long-term commitment to the organisation. It is awarded to adult members in active leadership roles or those making a unique, highly valued contribution to Scouting. This award is given for a long period of service spanning many years across various levels of the organisation.

At Diamantina we are very lucky to have several long- standing and dedicated leaders. This year one of our amazing Joey Leaders, Banjora (Judith Ascione), has been given this prestigious award.

Banjora was in only the second cohort of Joey Leaders trained in the ACT when her son was just six years old. Her children are now adults with children of their own!

We are so blessed to have Banjora in our group. She is a great example of everything Scouting stands for and with well over 20 years service to Scouts ACT and our group specifically we can't thank her enough.

Today is World Scout Day!

Did you know that Birubi ( James Clark ) has
been a member of every youth section at Diamantina as a child and young adult? And has been a Scout Leader and now a Group Leader for many years, also at Diamantina. James even met his wife of 31 years through Scouting!

Awards are given out on World Scout Day and James received an email advising that he has been awarded the Silver Wattle:

"Awarded for outstanding service to Scouts Australia as an Adult Member in an active Leadership role, for a period of around ten to twelve years. ‘Outstanding service’ is defined as a performance at a consistently high standard, normally over a number of assignments, all of which have provided positive outcomes for Scouting. This person’s contribution to Scouting clearly stands out from that of his / her peer group."
