The NSW Government’s increase in core funding for the women’s health sector allowed Sydney Women’s Counselling Centre to hire a caseworker.

This keeps our team of counsellors ✨ FOCUSED ON WHAT WE DO BEST, ✨ providing women with trauma-informed counselling.

At , continuity of care matters. 💜

The NSW Government’s increase to core funding for the NSW women’s health sector allowed to provide a level of security and confidence for our team.

For many women who need trauma-informed care, having to repeatedly retell their stories (and reliving those experiences) can be exhausting and re-traumatising.

Being able to ✨ RETAIN STAFF ✨ over time means women are able to build trust with the same people who’ve listened to their stories, witnessed their strengths and understand the challenges they’re navigating.

These deeper therapeutic relationships help create a safe, stable environment where healing can take place.

At SWCC, we’re proud to have a team that continues to show up with compassion, expertise and commitment every day. 💜

More funding for women’s health services means more women can access cervical screenings and long-term contraceptive options.

What does this mean for a woman’s mental health? 🤔

It means less anxiety, thanks to earlier detection, less invasive treatments and a sense of control over their own bodies and futures.

Being able to reliably plan if and when you have children is strongly linked to improved wellbeing, lower rates of depression, and increased life stability.

SWCC is grateful to be able to refer women to these local services. 💜

Investment into women’s health is an investment into our community’s future.

This Sunday 8 March is International Women’s Day! ✊

A day to celebrate the strength, achievements and leadership of women in our community.

SWCC recognises the inequities that still shape too many women’s lives and we’re determined to do something about it!

Every day, we sit alongside women navigating trauma, violence, grief, discrimination, financial stress and so much more.

We also witness extraordinary courage, resilience and growth.

IWD is both a celebration of that strength - and a call to keep building a world where women feel safe, heard and valued.

If you'd like to help more women find the courage to build a life they can thrive in, please donate today.
