💚 It’s tax time!

Did you know it costs Wildlife SEQ around $50,000 each year to feed the thousands of native animals that come through our carers’ homes, with much of this cost still covered by our volunteer carers themselves.

Every donation of $2 or more is tax deductible and goes directly towards feeding wildlife in care.

For a secure donation and instant tax receipt, visit our website wildlifeseq.com.au and follow the prompts. Your tax return could become a second chance for Queensland’s wildlife.

This juvenile White-bellied Sea Eagle was found unwell in the middle of a paddock. After receiving care, she made a remarkable recovery and has now been successfully released back into her home territory, where she can continue life in the wild.

Fun fact: White-bellied Sea Eagles are one of Australia’s largest birds of prey, with a wingspan of up to 2.2 metres! They are incredibly skilled hunters and will sn**ch fish straight from the water with their powerful talons, often without even getting their feathers wet. 🦅🌊

Best buds 🦘❤️

These two adorable wallabies may be different species, but they share a very special bond. One is a Red-necked Wallaby and the other a Swamp Wallaby. Both came into care after tragically losing their mothers to vehicle strikes.

Through their rehabilitation journey, they found comfort and friendship in each other. Their companionship has helped them feel safe, build confidence, and truly flourish in care.

Please remember to slow down and stay alert on our roads, especially around dawn and dusk, as many native animals are on the move.

How cute is this Wedge-tailed Shearwater?

Did you know Wedge-tailed Shearwaters are incredible ocean travellers, spending most of their lives at sea and migrating thousands of kilometres across the Pacific Ocean in search of food and suitable breeding grounds?

This juvenile was found exhausted on the beach and slightly underweight. After a short period in care, where she regained condition and was monitored to ensure she could successfully dive and catch fish, she was ready for release.

With a clean bill of health and plenty of energy, she was returned to the wild to continue her amazing journey across our oceans.

International Day for Biological Diversity 🦉🦇🦘

Today we celebrate the incredible biodiversity that makes Australia so unique. Every species from tiny microbats to wedge-tailed eagles plays an important role in keeping our ecosystems healthy.

At Wildlife SEQ, we see firsthand why protecting native wildlife and habitats matters. Every animal rehabilitated is part of a bigger picture in conserving the natural balance of our environment.

Together, we can all make a difference by protecting habitats, planting natives, slowing down on roads, and supporting wildlife conservation.

“Just Leaf” - and honestly, it beats smashed avo and a latte any day if you’re a possum!

Our little possum family is loving the simple things… fresh leaves, full bellies, and a safe place to munch. 💚

Tawny Frogmouth chicks are an absolute joy to care for - curious, and full of character. 🤎

But while we care for these little ones, we never forget their family. Tawny Frogmouths mate for life and are known to grieve their losses, so whenever possible, reunites are best for young ones.

Though they lack powerful talons, their large nocturnal eyes and wide, gaping mouths make them incredibly effective hunters. They feed on a varied diet including moths, spiders, beetles, worms, centipedes, and even small lizards and mammals.

Truly remarkable Australians. 🦉✨

NEW LOOK ALERT

Wildlife SEQ is proud to unveil our brand new look.

As we continue our mission of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation across South East Queensland, we wanted a brand that truly reflects who we are - professional, passionate, and deeply connected to the environment we work to protect every single day.

Inspired by the colours of the Azure Kingfisher, along with the sea, sky, and sun of our beautiful region, our new logo represents both the wildlife we care for and the future vision of Wildlife SEQ.

While the look may be changing, our mission remains the same:
-Dedicated volunteers
-Compassionate wildlife care
-A stronger future for native wildlife

Same heart. Same passion. A fresh new chapter for Wildlife SEQ.
