Just 20 minutes can make a world of difference for our native birds! 🐦

Aussie Bird Count Week (October 19–25) starts tomorrow! Australia’s biggest citizen science event. With 1 in 6 Aussie birds currently facing the threat of extinction, understanding our local populations is the crucial first step toward protecting them.

Step into your garden, local park, or your favourite outdoor space, and spend 20 minutes counting our feathered locals 💙

It’s not all cuddly feathers and fur - reptiles require rehabilitation and care sometimes too. For those who have a soft spot for the scaly guys, this one’s for you!

The most common reptile species we see come through our care are lizards, snakes and turtles.

This one is a juvenile Lace Monitor. Did you know? Female Lace Monitors may dig into active termite mounds to lay their eggs. After the nest chamber is sealed, the mound provides a protected environment for incubation!

These three cuddly sweethearts were all unfortunately orphaned for different reasons, but have bonded together while in care. They are in the good hands of Sunshine Coast Koala Rescue as their dedicated carer.
