🌿 Know someone who is great with young people and loves the outdoors?

We're looking for a Project Supervisor to lead our next group of Tableland Trail Builders trainees.

You'll lead a small team of young people (aged 17–24) as they learn new skills and work on trail maintenance on the Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park, conservation projects, revegetation works, and community initiatives across the Tablelands.

If you're practical, patient, enjoy mentoring young people, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we'd love to hear from you.

There's no better way to learn than by getting stuck in and giving it a go!

Working alongside Peter from QPWS at TREAT Nursery, our TTB trainees helped build a retaining wall. It was their first time operating a Kanga mini loader. Under Peter's guidance, they moved sand, positioned rock, and helped construct the retaining wall from start to finish, and did an outstanding job.

A big thank you to Peter for sharing his knowledge and helping our trainees learn a new skill.

It takes a community to build a strong workforce. 💪

A big thank you to NQPS Security for sharing their insights with our skilling participants. Hearing directly from industry about what employers look for and how to stand out in the recruitment process is invaluable for young people preparing for work.

Many are on the home stretch of their training and will soon find themselves in the interview seat. Conversations like this help build confidence and prepare them for what's ahead.

Thank you, NQPS Security. We appreciate your support.

Another fantastic evening of networking at the Tablelands University Centre, bringing Human Services students and local industry together.

A sincere thank you to Jo Bentley-Davey - Pracademic, Specialist Practitioner and Social Work Lecturer - for sharing her expertise, insight and lived professional experience with our students and local sector.

The focus of the night was trauma-aware practice, exploring how trauma can present in professional settings, and the importance of sustaining yourself while supporting others in the work.

Thank you Jo, and everyone who joined us. It was a wonderful evening.

✈️ Dreams taking flight for Year 10 St Augustine's College student James!

Last week, James spent time with Jetstar Australia gaining exposure to the aircraft engineering side of the aviation industry, including some amazing behind-the-scenes experiences in the cockpit and around the aircraft.

His family shared these fantastic photos and said he “doesn’t even mind the 4am starts!”

Well done, James, and a huge thank you to Jetstar for providing this unforgettable opportunity!

We're loving the teamwork on this project!

Our VPG Work Skills crew have been working with Civil Safety - Safety and Training RTO #32381 to build a pergola, learning a bunch of new practical skills along the way. Together they've concreted the posts, built the structure, and the roof is going on soon!

Seeing them take on something brand new and help each other along the way has been awesome! Go team!

National Reconciliation Week is here and we are All In!

The 2026 theme, All In, calls on all Australians to step up, show up and commit to reconciliation in our workplaces, schools and communities.

This week at VPG, our staff are learning, reflecting and engaging in conversations across our centres and communities - sharing stories, perspectives and connections with participants, families and those around us.

We acknowledge and thank our VPG First Nations leaders for their guidance and courage in sharing knowledge and lived experience as we learn together.

Reconciliation is ongoing. It lives in listening, learning, relationship-building and action. And at VPG, we’re All In.
