🍃 MEET THE PASSIONATE PEOPLE WITHIN OUR COLLECTIVE 🍃
Sue is a Cairns-based mum to four grown boys, including one who lives with Down Syndrome.
As a fierce advocate for her son since birth, Sue has always ensured he doesn’t miss out on anything in life – so much so – that he now leads a fulfilling social lifestyle, holds a job, and is largely independent.
But Sue would like to see more Far North Queenslanders living with disability included in the workforce, so that they too, can experience the same sense of purpose and independence that her own son is afforded.
“Work is an area where people with disability are really underutilised, but employers are still reluctant to hire them. Most people with significant disabilities need positions created for them,” she said.
