Sharing an upcoming cultural event in Latrobe. All welcome.

Join the Vesak celebration, organised by the Sri Lankan community in the North West. Vesak is a significant Buddhist festival that marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha, usually celebrated with light, reflection and acts of kindness 🌼

Enjoy a nice evening with cultural performances, music, lanterns, food and a peaceful community atmosphere.

The Migrant Work Rights Hub Tasmania and Immigration Advice and Rights Centre (IARC) will be in Burnie for a free information session for workers on temporary visas, including student, skilled, sponsored, PALM and Working Holiday visas.

Learn about:
• Your rights at work and how to report exploitation
• New visa protections for migrant workers
• Support pathways if something has gone wrong at work
• Visa questions and legal support

There will also be an opportunity to speak directly with Joshua Strutt, CEO and Principal Solicitor at IARC through free 1-on-1 consultations.

Marinera-Peru
The marinera is an elegant and playful dance full of tradition. It represents the courtship between a man and a woman, using handkerchiefs as symbols of charm and communication. It is recognised as cultural heritage of Peru 🇵🇪 and is one of the most beloved dances from both the Andean and coastal regions.
