🌿 Clay Mandala Art 🌿

If you’re joining us on Wednesday, this will be another one of our take home crafts!

Not only is this such a mindful activity — designing patterns and moulding clay — it is also amazing for developing those little finger muscles, as they rummage through the beans & lentils.

I can’t wait to see what our little friends (& mamas, let’s be real, we enjoy it as much as them) create!

I’ve always found that children are in awe of bees. Maybe it’s the calming hum, or their connectedness with flowers, I’m not sure. I know my own children could sit and watch a bee for the longest time — what a great lesson for us all. Next time you see a bee, maybe take a deep breath, pause & observe 🐝

If you’re joining us on Wednesday, one of our take home crafts will be this beautiful little honey bee. A gum nut body and two leaves for wings — the cutest little creation to add to your garden.

Creating from nature has so many wonderful benefits — improves motor skills, encourages creativity, helps regulate emotions, builds environmental awareness and connection, and is cost effective and accessible.

Today’s session was so much fun! Thank you to the new friends who joined us, and to my community who continues to support me each week. It means more than you know — I love providing this beautiful space for our families each week 🌿

Hands were full today with lots of crafty creations to take home:
🪴 marigold planting & painting a recycled tin can
🪴 flower craft using eco paints & flower petals
🪴 seed pod threading (making necklaces)
🪴 play dough table
🪴 caterpillar craft
🪴 hawk moth caterpillars (life cycle & counting how many in the jar)

🌼 Flower Pressing 🌼

I just bought the cutest little flower press from Marigold Floral Studio. We’ve pressed all sorts of flowers & leaves to use for crafts at our sessions. Such a sweet little activity for people of all ages! My son loved picking all the flowers we would use.

Can’t wait to see how they turn out — I have so many ideas for crafty creations 🌿

What a beautiful morning we had under the tree today! We explored Australian flora & fauna by reading the wonderful book Wombat Stew.

Our activities included:
☀️Wombat Stew messy potion play
☀️echidna craft
☀️reading nature books & drawing your favourite Australian animal
☀️planting native flower seeds in newspaper pots
☀️Australian animal small world tray
☀️Australia collage using native flowers & leaves, and beautiful paints from Eco Art and Craft | Natural Kids Paint Australia
☀️play dough station with native leaves and flowers
