🏆🎣 A VERY SPECIAL HONOUR – LIFE MEMBERSHIP 🎣🏆

As we close out our 2025/26 season, there was one very special award left to present.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Donald Patterson has been awarded Life Membership of the Bundaberg Sportfishing Club. 👏

Don has been a member of our club since 2010, and his achievements speak for themselves. Over the years, he has held countless records, entered well over 1,000 fish captures, earned the Geoff Hawkins Award, and achieved an incredible list of Species Master milestones.

But Don’s contribution to our club goes far beyond the fish he has caught. 🎣

He has stepped into positions within the club, exceeded expectations and continually put the club and its members first. Whether it’s helping behind the scenes, supporting events or encouraging member participation, Don has given so much to Bundaberg Sportfishing Club over the years.

Life Membership is a recognition of not only achievement, but commitment, contribution and dedication to our club — and we couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient.

🎣 Bundaberg Sportfishing Club Members Only – 4 Fish Challenge! 🎣

Who’s ready to hit the water this weekend? 🌊🐟

Our Members 4 Fish Challenge is on! Your goal is to catch 4 different legal species from the list below between 6:00am Saturday and 12:00pm Sunday to be in the running for the win.

✅ Eligible Species (Minimum Sizes):
🐟 Yellowfin Bream – 28cm
🐟 Sand Whiting – 23cm
🐟 Dusky Flathead – 40cm
🐟 Barred Grunter (Javelin) – 40cm
🐟 Gold Spot Estuary Cod – 38cm
🐟 Oxeye Herring (Tarpon) – 30cm

⏰ Competition Times:
🕕 Starts: 6:00am Saturday
🕛 Finishes: 12:00pm Sunday

📍 Fish Presentation:
Reminder to present your captures to Ash by 12:30pm Sunday. We’ll see everyone under the bridge!

A few weeks ago a few club members ventured North to seaforth. With 25knts southerly and rain every day it made the fishing really hard. Fishing Constance Creek and Murray creek they found a few good fish and some stonker crabs. Biggest going 21cm across the shell!! They also ventured into Pinnacle and fished cattle Creek and found some good numbers of sootys. They stayed at Shells of seaforth an air BNB hosted by Jamanda Soleil! What a beautiful place it was. If you're ever in the seaforth area and need some accommodation be sure to check them out!
