Bulahdelah RFB Bulahdelah RFB is part of the Mid Coast district.

Made up of volunteers from various backgrounds the brigade is an active one attending MVAs, bush/grass fires, vehicle fires, structure fires, PR activities and much, much more.

At 1225hrs the Brigade was called to a vehicle alight on the Pacific Highway at Wootton. On arrival along with Wootton RFB the vehicle was well alight along with a fuel/oil fire across both southbound lanes. Crews in BA quickly brought the fire under control. Spagsorb was also used after the fire was extinguished to cover the oil/diesel residue. Both southbound lanes were closed by NSWP for approximately 45 mins. No injuries and suspected cause is mechanical.

Today’s Fire Danger Rating is Moderate for our weather district. Did you know our weather district extends from the Karuah River to the Coffs Harbour region (area 2 on the map).
Our neighbours in the Hunter have a Fire Danger Rating of High today with a Total Fire Ban (south of the Karuah river).
Please check the weather before lighting up your permit burns and use common sense, what may be dangerous to do today may be safely done tomorrow.
Remember permits are in effect and report any fires directly to 000.

At 2001hrs last night the Brigade was called to a structure fire on the Bucketts Way at Booral. With a shed/garage well alight and fire impacting the house the first arriving Brigade Booral RFB did an incredible job saving the house which sustained minor fire damage and smoke damage. Unfortunately the garage/shed was a total loss. Challenging conditions were faced with 2 x 45kg LPG cylinders venting and some flammable materials inside the garage/shed. NSWRFS brigades from Booral, Bulahdelah, Clarence Town, Medowie and Tea Gardens were in attendance along with FRNSW Dungog and Raymond Terrace. Great teamwork by all. Pet birds were also rescued from the residence.
The Bucketts Way was closed for several hours for firefighting operations. Also thank you to NSW Ambulance and Police for their assistance. No injuries were reported. Fantastic work by all involved.
A special thank you to a local landholder who provided bulk water to all appliances.

At 1355hrs we responded in Bulahdelah Pumper to a reported excavator fire in Waukivory. Supporting Waukivory RFB we suppressed the fire using foam with large quantities of hydraulic oil and diesel alight. The suspected cause is mechanical. Great work by all crews.
