The Sunshine Coast Jazz Club is excited to be bringing you “Rythme Melodique”, Paul Hendon’s 5 Piece Band.
“Rythme Mélodique” features an unusual line-up of two reeds front line, reminiscent of the Soprano Summit recordings of Bob Wilber & Kenny Davern from the 1970’s. The name of the band is a literal translation of what the group strives to present - tuneful melodies with an infectious beat. Borrowing from those recordings, the repertoire also includes a few French tunes and some less commonly heard songs, as well as plenty of favourite Swing Jazz standards.

Jo Bloomfield – piano
Andrew Shaw - double bass
Dave Burrows - guitar

Come join us on 15th March 2026, when the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club brings once again to the Sunshine Coast the band, Slips & The F.W.’s. This band was a great success when they appeared for the Club in 2024 and 2025.

Slips & The F.W.'s are a whimsical, whirling whirlwind of wily musicians from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Toowoomba. This cadre of audacious auditory artisans dare to rekindle the long-forgotten embers of Early Blues, Traditional Jazz, and Ragtime relics from the labyrinthine epochs spanning the 1900s through the tumultuous 1930s. Tangled in tunes, their sonic sorcery draws inspiration from legendary luminaries such as Clarence Williams, Blind Boy Fuller, and Spencer Williams among a myriad of others.

Tantalisingly transporting a taste of New Orleans, they friskily frolic, flinging forth flavourful favourites and feisty figments, fusing in their fanciful formation, frothing a flavour of far-flung French Quarter flair wherever their feet may fancy.

On Sunday 15th February 2026 the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club is excited to bring you the Ingrid James Quintet presenting “My Funny Valentine”. The Club’s event is inspired by the celebration of love and Valentine’s Day! "Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold." Zelda Fitzgerald. St Valentine, the patron saint of love, reminds us that this is a weekend to celebrate those we hold close to us.

Ingrid will offer a feast of flavours with her all- star lineup – Brendan St Ledger (piano), Owen Newcomb (bass), Dave Sanders (drums) and Darren Macpherson (saxes/flute).

Ingrid James is an internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist known for her warm, crystalline tone and impeccable phrasing. She has performed, collaborated and recorded with an impressive array of international and Australian jazz artists and toured the UK, France, Italy, Czech Republic as well as Los Angeles, while remaining a passionate advocate for music education and community engagement at home in Australia.

On Sunday 18th January, the Sunshine Coast Jazz club is pleased to present the Bowery Hot Five. Join Mal Wood - Trumpet / Flugelhorn and Vocals, John Reeves - Piano / Accordion, Elliot Parker - Double Bass and Steve Francis - Drums, as they take you on a musical journey. Classic Jazz n Blues served just the way you like it.

The Bowery Band has been delivering Live Jazz n Blues at the Bowery Bar in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane for over 17 years. Known for their swinging vibe and serious fun factor, these guys put on a show like no other Live band around. Bring your dancing shoes and shake away those blues as the Bowery Hot Five pay their dues live in concert at the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club.
