Canberra-based Broulee Nippers has supported this incredible event for a number of years now, and again on 16 August 2026, a number of our Water Safety champs will be present to ensure a safe plunge 🤩🤩🤩

We have little availability across our ages groups - U10 may have a spot left. Please note that U14 is NOT an intake year except for transfers.

We are now only accepting parent roles as Water Safety or Age Managers (secondary parent role can be General Member) - please don't be daunted by these terms, you get plenty of support with multiple age managers per age group.

You have opportunity to sell yourself in the 'unique skills and connections' and 'comments' parts of the form.

The club is working towards Canberra and Broulee Nippers to be more "one club” and to develop future lifesavers who patrol at Broulee, as such keep in mind:

- this is a beach based program with some pool sessions, if your child is not a strong swimmer you will get them the assistance needed prior to beach proficiency - (school holiday intensives etc).

- beach proficiency testing is to be completed at a Broulee session prior to the December holiday break.

- it's anticipated you'll attend carnivals - whether to compete or not, it's great to see the club spirit and give kids the opportunity to get more exposure to the surf life saving culture

- parents are to remain onsite throughout Nippers sessions and assist where requested, this is not a drop and go activity

- you anticipate your child will attend at least 80% of sessions and not doing so may impact acceptance into future years programs.

The form for EOI for registration for 26/27 has just been made available to existing members and will remain open for the next two weeks. Following that, referrals from existing members are accepted. If there are available spaces after the referral intake then we go public via this page. Expect to see more information mid June.

And that’s a wrap!

Another amazing season with generous sponsors and tireless volunteers keeping the program going, large Nippers numbers across both the Canberra and Broulee squads. Our Harry named Far South Coast male Junior Lifesaver of the Year. The kids from U7 through to U14 really excelling, getting more experience and building confidence and great memories.

Each season, around 140 young Canberra-based participants develop the skills, confidence, and community spirit that define the next generation of lifesavers.

Through this long-standing partnership, Capital Chemist has helped equip the program with boards, a marquee, resuscitation devices, and hoodies - practical support that makes a real difference where it matters most.

A great evening celebrating their achievements, with juniors proudly wearing their Capital Chemist branded hoodies alongside their trainers - a reminder of the power of community, and the impact of investing in it.

Great to have Mr Emerson visit us at our final session for the season to gain a better understanding of the importance of deep-water diving pools for teams and clubs like Canberra/Broulee Nippers.
