Australians understand something our laws still ignore: animals are sentient.

Keeping sentience out of legislation allows a system that permits suffering to continue, because if the law doesn’t recognise that animals can feel, it doesn’t require their interests to be properly protected.

Recognising sentience isn’t just a principle — it’s the foundation for stronger laws, better protections, and real accountability.

It’s time for our governments to bring our laws into line with science and community expectations.

🚨 BREAKING: Queensland to Trial “Paw-ling Stations” 🐾🗳️

In a historic move for democracy, animals across Queensland will be given the right to vote this April 1st.

From dogs demanding longer walk breaks, to cats lobbying for mandatory sunbeam access, and chickens pushing for egg-stra protections — it’s time their voices were heard.

Early polling suggests overwhelming support for:
✔️ Treats every hour
✔️ No more vacuum cleaners
✔️ Unlimited belly rubs

While this is (sadly) just an April Fools’ joke… the truth is, animals do deserve a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Let’s keep working toward a kinder Queensland for all creatures - no ballot required 💚
